JimJams Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 Has he really only got a year on his contract? You've got top Portuguese team, middle of the pack French team and bottom rung Premier League team. So on that basis we're losing the race. However, he's obviously based in England currently, so theoretically less upheaval. Ultimately most players want to play in the Premier League, albeit at the top end of it, but we then have the shop window element. Porto have CL football and (regular) trophy winning credentials. Not sure what value a Colombian puts in domestic trophies in Europe tbh. So it might all comes down to wages! And opportunity. If he's a right winger there's a lot of them already at Porto, they just made Conceicao permanent, so he's got stiff competition there. We're dryer than a nuns chuff, so he would get gametime here.

Will the club make an embarrassing first bid allowing Ipswich to get him for £5m under the asking price, then Rudkin and Top saunter off into the sunset for tea, medals and naked bum slaps in the shower. Maybe. 1

kingpower Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 But didn’t we all want Ayew? in all seriousness, if this lands then another example of how we should just ignore the long, drawn out speculation links as it’s not the way we like to operate. when players actually arrive the deal tends to be already done when we first hear about the link (eg Okoli)
KFS Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 Remember how emotional their little fans got after the conference league win over them
FoxinNotts Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 Maybe we’re gonna go for a Colombian 🇨🇴 double, and get Asprilla and Richard Rios over the line 3
honeybradger Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 Why is our priority position a RW who can also play CAM? Please can we just target an actual midfielder. 2

He's played down the middle just as much as he has on the right wing. Given the players we've been linked with, Doak aside, they've all covered plenty of different positions in the front line. Additionally, even if we get him it doesn't mean we're finished in the market. Edited 3 August 2024 by JimJams 1
Tielemans63 Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 Coz it's Asprilla, Asprilla night, And no one's gonna save you when Yasser's gonna strike!
escape2victory Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 Decent this. Will give us good wide options with Mavididi, De Cordova-Reid, Fatawu and Asprilla. Still need a striker, a creative midfielder and I’d like us to get a new left back as don’t rate our current options 1

Sankey93 Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 I like this but we desperately need a striker and a cam or can asprilla play cam ?

My feelings exactly However, I’m starting to think, that Cooper might not play a number 10 hardly ever. probably 4-3-3 with a 6 and two 8s and 3-4-3 with a 6 and an 8 I think he might be thinking Alves is the one we need should he play 4-2-3-1 with cover from BDCR and a new guy (Asprilla type) should we need him) 1

Taking their most talented player would be lovely.

FrankieADZ Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 wheres the sodding youtube video, on the second page and there isnt one, frankly im ashamed of every single one of you 2
ronnup Posted 3 August 2024 Posted 3 August 2024 I think he sees Stephi as the 10 which i like actually. Weve technically got 2 pivots now so Winks and Wilf are a solid pairing and i guess Soumare is back up.
