I do think there may be a chance we can get him again next season on loan

Mainly because of how many options Brighton have for the right wing and 10 positions

How much did Brighton pay for him? Could we sign him if there's a profit in it for them?

£5m rising to £10m

I reckon they would want a shit load for him though

Great scouting, shame about the deal we’ve made. Unless there is a secret buy clause

Well yeah in hindsight yes, but he could also have turned out to be shit and then we'd be stuck with another player we can't offload.

I’m a bit confused though; comments are making it sound as if Leicester had a say in whether or not the deal was permanent, or included a buy clause. I think the reality was more that we (Brighton) strengthened very heavily this summer and couldn’t accommodate Facundo - right now.

A season long loan seems a great solution for both clubs and the player.

Glad to see he is doing well for you!

Serious question… how the **** is he not in your squad?! Brighton didn’t have that good season last year and you’ve signed lots of new players. But you have this guy!

This is like when Monaco loaned us Tielemans. We watch him play and we can’t work out why he was allowed to leave. High quality, works hard, seems like a team player. You guys paid 40m for Rutter! Different positions but I just don’t get it.

If we stay up we’ll be making a bid for sure.

Can someone please:-

a) Get him to fall for a local lass

b) Get hooked on Crusty Cobs like what you can’t get down south

c) Introduce him to the Pantheon of retail that is the Haymarket Shopping Centre

oh and find a way of spending a huge fee that doesn’t mess up our ffp.

Brighton fan here (pleasantly surprised I can post without registering).

FB showed flashes of brilliance last year, but wasn't consistent enough to secure a place in the starting line up. Based on our spending over the summer, it's not impossible to think Bloom is looking at a top 8 finish, and unfortunately FB just isn't at that level quite yet.

As mentioned we have Georginio (£40m signing) and Pedro (£30m signing) in his position, and also a few others that can play as a CAM if required. With this in mind and his lack of effectiveness last season, I can see why he was loaned out. Do note though that there was some discontent with his loaning based on his ability and future potential, combined with the fact he's quite a likable fella.

I'm so pleased to see him thrive at Leicester, not least because you're one of the most likeable clubs in the Prem, but also because he's finally fulfilling the potential he has shown for the last 3 years. Before we signing him Tévez touted him as the next Messi, which does seem farfetched, but also shows how highly rated he is in Argentina.

Next season I imagine one of Pedro, Georginio or Buonanotte will be sold. £40m + a sell on fee would be more than fair I imagine (we sold MacAllister for less).

Don't think of him as a loan.  Think of him as Cambiasso's love child, an Argentinian sent to keep us up for one season only!

so basically what you are saying is we dont let him leave and chain him to a chair at the KP:ph34r:

the lad is brilliant, but he did seriously fade in the second half, i'm not sure why that was, but he just became ineffective

He's 19 years old playing in a car crash of a team. Hard to consistently play well given that.

Great goal all round here. I am not Cooper's biggest fan, but this is an exciting template going forwards.

  • Okoli and Faes allow for a higher line.
  • Faes with what he does best, an aggressive challenge to win the ball back, but not that risky as Okoli is there in case he can't make it.
  • Two players combine on the touchline for a 2v1 overload. This is the core attacking pattern from Cooper's system.
  • 4 on 4 in the box (but I preferred the 5 we attacked with last season)
  • Buonanotte with the audacity to attack the box and go for it.
  • This entire move comes from sustaining an attack where the first wave of the attack broke down.

And this doesn't even talk about the killer finish from Facundo!

Why we backed off in the second half I don't know. This was class.

That actually looked like good football. We were pretty good in the first half. Yes Buenanotte faded in the second half, but the whole team faded in the second half. I can't think why.  Anyway - it must be lovely for Brighton to have such a promising youngster getting games every week.
