Is there a version of this for xG v goals conceded?

Would probably be even worse.

Yep, bottom of that as well

Come on, you cannot be remotely serious. You are just jumping on the out train and grasping at the most ridiculous of branches. It isn’t, not even close.

Next stop - Rodgers should be better regarded than Cooper at Leicester.  This train terminates at the next stop, please alight here.

Forgive my flippant post, as the extra reply is fair enough, and can see the argument about us being a better unit. That is more naturally sat with Maresca’s recovery of the teams morale I think (a nigh on Lazarus level performance following the relegation). Cooper is not inspiring the same level of performance that Maresca was able too, but they do some spend some time playing for him, however the key thing for me is that Cooper does not have the team drilled well enough, and that more than anything else should see him given the elbow.

This squad doesn't have the individual talent of 2022/23. That relegation is one of the biggest failures in Premier League history. The current squad under any manager who can in the short to medium term effect the combination of team spirit, tactical nuance and good man management will keep this squad up.

The squad of 2022/23 was a top 10 squad, which needed a shake up. The squad of 2024/25 is a bottom half squad with masses of Premier League experience, some quality from key areas but a manager with serious question marks over their ability at the highest level.

A decent manager gets this squad around 14-15th, possibly higher. Only have to look at Marco Silva in 2022/23 at Fulham.

I agree. The squad is better than what it's showing, but not the heights of top half. 14-16th would be a success. Unfortunately, we have a manager that is league one standard and doesn't know what to do with the squad he's got. We need to get him out otherwise this rot will be too far gone to correct for anyone coming in.

It looks bad now...and there are no signs of it improving.

Listen to Justin's interview after the Arsenal game. He said the players wanted to get at them more and the players should be more aggressive....never starts a sentence with "the gaffer" or similar. That was telling, I thought.

I think to be given the fair crack of the whip Cooper will get the next 4 games, that will take us to 10 matches. We have the ability to win all 4 to be honest but he needs to pick up at least 6 points to demonstrate he is the man beyond these games in my opinion.

22/23 squad was clearly better, but some are failing to take into account the Ward factor, the Amartey factor and the fact that we were rudderless as Rodgers had run his race and checked out.  There was a malaise over the club which dragged us down like an anchor.

I don't know whether this squad is good enough to stay up, I suspect it might be, but we will never know as Cooper is not letting them play.

Journalists are suggesting Potter's ready to get back into the Premier League because it now looks like Lee Carsley will be given the job permanently after impressing the FA.

Reckon Potter's leaking stories to his Journalist mates. Everton could well go for him with their new owners wanting change at the club or ManU if they sack Eric Ten Hag

Maurizio Sarri is a realistic appointment.

Roger Schmidt is a realistic appointment.

Nobody pointing out that Cooper isn't good enough is deluded, entitled, a whiner or whatever other childish epithet you care to think about. All of the above are unattached and probably ready to listen to an offer from a Premier League club. But many of them will be employed in a few months, and I for one don't want to see one of them tearing it up at West Ham or Southampton while we languish in 20th with Cooper still stinking the place out in March.

Yes, I'm sure they will all be fighting amongst themselves to come to Leicester. :ermm:

No! Even 6 pts from next 4 isn’t good enough. We should not be losing more than one of the next 4. No way.

Hes had a fair crack.

He had a FULL pre-season, which was one of the worst I’ve seen and heard about for a long time.

The XG for and against are both terrible.

His subs and in game management are absolutely appalling.

Hes already had 8 games. Palace gave De boer FIVE.

If Potter goes to Everton we absolutely have to go for Moyes. Not his biggest fan at all, but think he would be well placed to keep us up.

That’s essentially what I was getting at, as a collective we’re a better unit, individual talent is great, but if they’re all pulling in opposite directions then it doesn’t help you at all.

I think sometimes we’re guilty of measuring “good” as individual technical ability, but we all know team spirit, good organisation and a sprinkling of talent can take you along way.

Technically, Rodgers had a far better team, but towards the end of his tenure it just all fell apart.

Wasted youth is better by far than a wise and productive old age.

And a manager who knows what he’s doing is better than a big name or a sharp suit or whatever. Cooper is neither anyway. This isn’t even worthy of discussion. He should never have been appointed. Absolute madness. He must have really wanted it and that swayed the board.

What swayed the board was a lack of options because we looked extremely unattractive with an unknown points deduction looming.

If that was sorted before the Summer, we'd have had much more interesting options.
