Likes to build with the GK stepping into the backline, with threats out wide and the 8s pushing forward but seems tactically flexible enough to be willing to adapt to the opposition. Would've been such an easy transition for the players to go from Enzo to him and also maximises the strengths of some of our best players (Hermansen, Mavididi, Fatawu) so if we act now then there's still hope. I'm not bothered if he's not particularly charismatic, as long as he can build an identity for the team and actually look to win games he'll be a miles better option that Cooper. If you asked him to break down his tactics like this I genuinely don't think he'd be able to, he just seems to send them out in a general rigid shape that never changes and hopes for the best. I can see him going to palace tbh. That will make their derby even more interesting

Molson Canadian Posted 30 September 2024 Posted 30 September 2024 hopefully rudders didn't give him an insanse contract buy out clause.

Is Potter the best you can do? I'm not keen on him. Plus he's turned us down twice. I like the Chap at Bournemouth.

Pains me to say it but that's a backwards step for him now. If Enzo had stayed for a season there was a real chance of us re-establishing ourselves as one of the "proper" clubs in the Prem and really getting back to rebuilding our reputation. But we're just in silly season again. We are, along with Everton, the sick man of the Premier League. I wouldn't a Bournemouth or Brentford for Leicester at the moment. We'll have to be more creative than that.

It unbelievable where we have fallen too and the board/chairman get high fives by some when we score an equaliser in the league cup third round against Walsall.

fox_up_north Posted 1 October 2024 Posted 1 October 2024 If that bloody awful Sunderland side of 10 years ago could spend so long in the league, we have the squad to do so!

Dahnsouff Posted 1 October 2024 Posted 1 October 2024 Surely another Maresca is what we need now? Not the same style, but someone who has experience in a good stable and is looking to branch out on their own. Risky, so won't happen, but would be ideal.

I think our players are more technically adept than coopers approach requires
Bptiger Posted 1 October 2024 Posted 1 October 2024 Must supporters called for weeks on weeks to sack Rodgers , so how long will it take TOP to move this bloke on , because he can’t wait till the new year , he needs to act now 3

You don't want a manager in high demand who we've wanted for ages...but you want someone currently employed by a club that wouldn't leave them for us in a million years? Maresca would have been a disaster for us this season, let's not let life under Steve Cooper cloud the realities of what would have happened had Maresca had stayed. We would have tried to play a style of play that we simply wouldn't have had the players for and it would have failed, in the same way it has failed for Burnley and Southampton. We need a manager with a stronger footballing identity, but it needs to be one that balances idealism and pragmatism. 3 1

As expected, individual quality is currently covering for his terrible tactics and poor in-game management/subs - you're right, it will end and soon, and then we're in the shit.

I reckon we would probably have more points on the board at this stage than we do under Cooper. He would have carried on playing the way he had us playing last season, which we already had the players for. Not saying it would have been rosy, and we wouldn't struggle, but I think he leads us to a higher league finish than Cooper in all honesty. 8

Enzo is only functional at a few top end premiership outfits or a good squad in a lower division.

Popular Post Mickyblueeyes Posted 1 October 2024 Popular Post Posted 1 October 2024 Maresca had a lot of faults - he is very much a manager still learning. Issues with subs, adapting and being reactive rather than proactive when the opposition figured us out. However he is leaps and bounds above Cooper. steve’s currently living off Solanke being shit and Mads having a blinding game. As if we can take positives from Saturday - we barely laid anything on them. There wasn’t any tactics involved. You then consider we threw away a 2-0 lead v a Palace side bang in trouble and didn’t show up v Everton. We look miles away from a half decent side, the man has brought nothing to the table so far, 7

Tend to think this may not be the case due to how things have progressed at Chelsea. I realise you can argue he has the capability at Chelsea due to their nefarious riches, but the very process of adaption is what is required, which he has demonstrated an ability to do. 1

This is all just hypothetical, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest Enzo would struggle with Leicester in the premier league. He is a top coach, ruthless, determined with a philosophy, everybody is pointing to our wobble at the end of last season and his stubbornness to change. No manager will hit the panic button and complety change their style with so few games left in the season, he held his nerve, stuck with his believes and the rest is history. He's a top coach and I for one believe he would have learnt from his mistakes and been successful at Leicester this season. I would much rather have had Enzo in charge than the ****wit that is Cooper. 11
