One does wonder, to be honest.

Can't see the latter promoting himself, with Vichai owning the club.

 

Am not sure if Top is a bit afraid of making any sackings etc to 'taint' his Father's legacy.

Absolutely a huge part of it. I think they all naively attributed way too much of the success to Rudkin and although it's commendable the way Thais have so much loyalty - in our case it's absolutely killing us.

I just can’t see Cooper outwitting Maresca, and that would still be the case if Cooper had their squad and Maresca was still managing us.

Given the fact that RVN has applied for the Coventry City managers job when they are sat in 17th position in the championship, 9 points away from 6th and 1 point away from the drop zone says everything you need to know to shoot down the argument that Cooper was the only the manager who wanted it. 
 

My take on it, despite the potential points deduction, I imagine the club were pretty bullish that they could fight it off, there will have been significant interest in the job, however I imagine any manager worth his salt, such as Potter would only join on the basis certain conditions were met which effectively meant they were not prepared to work under the current structure. However Cooper who was seemingly desperate to land another shot at the Premier League was more than happy to be the clubs patsy, a relatively cheap option who wouldn’t challenge or threaten the establishment. 
 

the club had there fingers burnt by Enzo, a highly ambitious and progressive coach who demanded the highest standards across the whole club and I am not sure certain individuals welcomed being challenged to raise the standards, it’s all too nice and comfortable. Appointing Cooper allows them to continue to run the club in the way the deem appropriate without fear of recrimination.

Odd phrasing.  He achieved the goal he was set and went to a bigger job and we got compensated. How were their fingers burnt?

Sorry but this is just giving the idiot more excuses. 
 

He’s been chairman when we sacked 30 year plus physio Dave Rennie. Last summer both Sadler and Stowell who had been coaches here for years were let go. Eduardo Macia left the club after some very successful years as we couldn’t offer him any sort of promotion (which he deserved) due to Rudkin.

 

There have been a number of unsung and competent staff members let go due to (rumoured) concerns.

 

He hasn’t had any issue with those. 
 

The difference between Vichai and Top - we lost Walsh and that summer pissed Vichai off so much, he ran an actual review and asked the employees to bring him a genuine replacement - the club delivered Macia. He knew Puel was on his last legs and the club identified Rodgers long before. 
 

Under Top, we sacked Rodgers so late we brought in league one manager Smith and his mate to use the golf course. 
 

The problems start and finish with his incompetence.
