If losing all our remaining games and finishing below Southampton makes our owners realise what an absolute shit show we’ve become and forces them to do something about it then personally I’m here for it.

I can never wish us relegated, just can't do it, but we have to make a lot of changes at the end of this season, Top has to be brutal and decisive, with the whole footballing model torn up and a better one put in place.

We found the way to compete with the best before, other teams are doing it, but we can't dig our heads in the sand.

Because the powers that be are all akin to Pearson's ostriches right now.

I completely agree, but it’s not the point. Can you tell me how these clubs are able to just stay above relegation every year? I can - PSR. It’s made the gap between the Championship and Premier League too big. 2nd season in a row now all 3 promoted clubs go back down and clubs like Wolves, Palace just manage to get away with it (again).

It's a good point. I still think it's possible though if you come up as a strong enough unit. I think the current Leeds side is better than Wolves.

The current Leeds side is not better than wolves. They’re considerably weaker than last season, playing in an even poorer league. There’s not a single person in their starting XI who would be adequate in the premier league.

Time will tell.

In a way if we have to go down, it would be good if the three teams finish in the same three places as they came up. Sends a nicer PSR message.

I think Forest and Everton might be the last two teams that really benefitted, (the spend on players out weighed the points deduction) before they tightened up on it all.

Can't really complain as we were the last team that avoided the 10 points deduction for going into admin. scenario.

If Young had stayed in his feet, would it have been given in the first place? It was theatrical but his shirt was pulled by two players. Lesser contact has seen penalties stay given after review.

It will be interesting to see who the next promoted side to stay up will be.

The gap is increasing every year, the money and the stature of the Prem just means that even the most bang average teams can attract talent both on and off the pitch that far outstrips the championship.

I think it will take a young team with a good recruiting philosophy and style. The next brentford or brighton as an example, teams like sheff united who are just a hodgepodge of experience and championship players don't really have a chance anymore.

You also need to look at who is going to continually struggle, but as teams get better owners and invest more and more they are continually distancing themselves from the championship.

Was talking to a couple of mates who support Wolves and they say this new manager has come in a straight away and identified that 4 at the back doesn’t work due to player limitations.

He’s therefore moved them to 3 CB’s with 2 wing backs which has made them much more solid and got the best out of the defenders - hence they are starting to get points and put in better performances.

cant help but think this is the way RVN should be setting up but it appears he’s too stubborn to make any changes to shape or personnel

It’s finally starting to happen. The bottom 3 are drifting away. without goals there’s no points. Wolves, west hams etc are putting points on the table whether it’s 3 or 1 each week they are progressing.
even if us and Ipswich win again (don’t see how) or at best draw and get a point it’s not enough to keep up. It’s amazing we stayed within touching distance this long! Nothing lasts forever I guess

Lol have they even been watching the right team? We haven't tried to play 4 at the back regularly ±in any meaningful way since O'Neil's first couple of games in charge last season. When we had a CB injury crisis he tried a back four with Lemina at home to Bournemouth but it didn't really work so he went back to a 3 until he was sacked.

The big difference VP has made is we have looked a lot more compact and organised, and aren't as easy to play through the centre of midfield. And we've stopped conceding so many set-piece goals. He hasn't changed the formation whatsoever.

Terrible VAR intervention sending off in the Bournemouth match. Never a red card. I do wonder whether the constant false narrative that Wolves pushed over the last 12 months that they were being unfairly treated by PGMOL has meant more sympathetic treatment this season. First it was the comical two match ban (delayed so it was spread over a cup match) for Cunha and now this.

Yes I was discussing this was my son-in-law who's a Leeds fan. He was saying they'll need to strengthen, and I pointed out that PSR would be closely monitored more than ever. I don't know if loans get around it to an extent. Sheffield and Burnley, (if they are the three) will go straight back down. Leeds have the best chance. You just need to try to be better than one existing PL club; Wolves; Palace. Certainly not easy.

Pope's return going as I expected

If Forest win today I think they get top 5 annoyingly, Newcastle too inconsistent to make up 9 points and Newcastle's focus for the season seem to be the cups to end the drought.

I would say it’s more clever from Hudson-Odoi than anything. Yep poor position from Pope but Hudson-Odoi did really well to score like that.

The luckiest side in English football, no question.

Possibly even European football.

Their better players will be poached and they won't be as lucky with lack of big injuries. How they spend to replace those who go will be key.

We did it with mixed results at first then famously horrific after.

Their extreme luck has, in one form or another, gone on for three seasons.

The first season saw them play literally every big side when they were out of form, and that kept them up.

The second season saw them stay up purely because they had the worst trio of promoted clubs in Premier League history to compete with.

This season has seen blind luck after blind luck.
