Can't stand them, but I fancy Leeds to stay up. They're an attractive proposition, seem to have money to spare and will have a good crack at it.

Yes they need new players but they'll sort it.

I think Bournemouth will lose a few players and West Ham are doggo, Wolves will struggle without Cunha and Man U need a massive overhaul.

Leeds have owners willing to spend to try and stay up. The issue is they’re only allowed to net spend half of what returning PL teams are. The system is transparently rigged to protect those teams and keep promoted ones from staying up.

Leeds and Burnley were dominant in the Championship but in totally different ways. We know what Burnley will do - try for 38 goalless draws. Leeds have some attacking talent and will add more - they’ll at least try and play football. The first thing any of these teams need to do is clean up against the other two - four wins against them would be a good start towards survival. But Burnley won’t make that easy for Leeds.

Sunderland, they’re probably next season’s Southampton. Hard to see them having any chance to be more than a speed bump.

Yup was talked about on here the other week but most fans rate trophies won in the 70’s/80’s ahead of anything in the last 20 years for whatever reason

If you was great in that era, you are a "proper" club, if you won anything in that era, you are forever a big club.  If you anything in the past decade, its all fake and plastic success.

I get how they'd feel tonight. European football is great. Tbh, I was t too fussed that we fell into EL and missed CL. Want too fussed when we fell into the conference league from EL. Warsaw, Athens, Moscow, Naples, Rome, Rennes, Prague, Eindhoven. Proper cities, proper names.

The difference is, they will be playing the equivalents of Randers and Luhansk and, at absolute best, Braga. With no prospects of EL teams dropping in to raise the profile. It's fun, but it's not proper European football

Say 'proper' again, say 'proper' again, I dare you, I DOUBLE dare you muthaf**ka,  say 'PROPER' one more time!

That's the point. All they will play are Randers, Braga and Luhansk. Our least interesting games. They won't be playing any of the classic football cities we did. As @Bilo points out, the only possible proper game they might have is Lazio.

Oh, you did.

And they have probably had decisions go their way too .

No certainty  VAR would have given that goal either .

Some will say was an example of an error that people would have to accept if there was no VAR at all .

Guess the frustration is that there is and the ref didn’t allow the system to come into play .

This is the weird point for me. When it comes to offsides they are determined to allow play to continue, even if a player ends up in a coma as a result like Awonyi. But on this case the ref whistled straight away rather than see what happened and let VAR look at it?

I agree Villa had their luck to stay in the division a few years back but it seems the ref has shown his inexperience here is probably the kindest way to say it. Maybe if he has reffed outside the top flight more than in it, his mind isn’t set to VAR and letting the move finish?

12 in the WhatsApp group, husbands all season ticket holders at relevant clubs. Wives couldn’t care less about football really.

My Auntie as the matriarchy has called for calm and suggested that if we all put some effort in and just focus on our similarities we can stop falling out

I’ve replied, if only Nuno had thought of that Forest would be in the Champions League,

Laughing reaction from my dad, no other replies, Forests implosion has taken down our entire family.

Mum was born in Kegworth, a village that can’t decide on its own football identity.

But I thank God every day that my Dad was born on Welford road!

Same for me. To be fair, it’s a confusing place! In Leicestershire, Derby postcode, Derby is geographically the nearest city, you go on way out the village you continue into Leicestershire towards Charnwood, straight out into Nottinghamshire another way and pretty much straight into Derbyshire as you get on the A50!

I always found there was quite an even split of Leicester, Derby and Forest, with a smattering of Notts County and others (glory supporters).

How depressing for Chelsea to get CL on the last day and all the usurpers bottle it. Booooring.

Newcastle, even if it was due to the extra place. To be fair, it’s hardly been a ‘rich 6’ lock in for many years. We had EL runs, Newcastle and Villa made CL the last two years. Palace with presumably their first run into Europe coming up.

Presumably you are referring to Forest and wanted them in the CL but you might be in the wrong place for that lol

Always hope for your Leeds lads next season :ph34r:

It couldn't of gone much better with Villa and Forest both missing out, about the only thing that can bring me any joy from this season!

Villa having a very public meltdown of all meltdowns and Forest fans winding their necks in and trying to convince themselves that they arent absolutely gutted is an absolute delightful.

They don't deserve Champions League anyway when they can't even get the spelling of the competition right.

But I'm happy we played a part in their downfall, eventually...

Spurs stay up on 38 points , other seasons they could have been in the Championship and Champions League at the same time. Bit of a farce that would have been.

They won't get that now. Fiorentina pipped them on GD. I'd make them favourites to win to be honest, they've gone deep twice now.

Forest fans pretending they are happy with Conference league lol

They'll be packing their 6 fingered thermal gloves to most the games.

Villa MASSIVELY embarrassing themselves.

They were well outplayed by United, incredibly passive.

What cost them CL football was their mixed start to the season.

Forest deserve credit for their season compared to previous and what is their best season for a generation/in the modern era.

BUT, and I don’t think it will get talked about enough, that bottle is incredibly special. To finish 7th when not long ago they were chasing 2nd is really quite pathetic.

it wont get talked about, cos they didnt win anything, have spunked over £300mil since they got promoted, so its not like the underdog story etc imo

alot of the players have incredible seasons too, like Selz, the guy kept forest in games and won them alot of points too

theyve had a great season all in all tho, you cant knock that, but as you said, it wont get talked about, it wont be remembered......or at least remembered for the right reasons, probably be remembered more for Jabba the hut coming onto the pitch to moan
