Problem is, his shirt was being pulled, you don't go down, you ain't getting the penalty.

 

You do go down and make a meal of it, VAR rules it out as exaggerated contact.

Although it is funny seeing Young get something go against him. He needed to be more subtle with the dive.

I don't think there was enough of an impediment for young to go down, and he certainly threw himself down. But after the ref has given it, it's not enough of a clear and obvious error to overturn it.

Owen is right, they only shown the angle where it didnt look like a foul to the ref, fixed

Doesn’t that just sum up the problem regarding VAR .

Even with it there is debate over a big decision which could have gone either way ?

I think if VAR review it and say we don't know, then that's not clear and obvious.

They also showed the ref some bizarre angles.

His shirt definitely gets pulled but he goes down like the rat he's always been.

What’s annoying is that whilst that’s the correct call and what we all want var used for. We all know that if that was the other way around, Man U get the pen and they hide behind it’s not clear and obvious. 
 

It’s the inconsistency that is the most frustrating thing. All calls like this need overturning, doesn’t matter if it’s salah, haaland or ounachu

100% that is exactly why they brought it in.
