Fair point but Faes' top flight record for Leicester has been abysmal. Not all his fault obviously but his performances and attitude have been poor as well.

 

There's a strong argument for cutting loose while he's still got enough time on his contract for us to get a decent fee.

 

(Would have been far better to do so at the start of the summer, of course...).

You are also more likely to get caught out for pace on the wide positions because there is a lot more space that the opposition player would drag you out into as you would need to go and engage, not really likely when in the middle

Not convinced tbh by any tactical decisions Cooper is making so I question this switch to the left irrespective of Vesty’s lack of pace. I understand Faes’ frustration and despite clearly being unpopular on here, I actually think he’s one of our better players, he’s a decent footballing centre half who can defend. He might make the odd mistake but  that’s the same as every one on the team. If he does leave there’ll be a big gap in our defence that can’t be covered by Coady because he’s as slow as Vesty nor by Okoli because he doesn’t look ready to be a regular based on his pre season and certainly seems less able with the ball at his feet.

We would be lucky to get £10m for him, he’s an absolute liability in the PL.

We would’ve sold him when we went down if we had decent interest in him.

There is pressure though, time pressure. We either get rid of him quick or let him linger clearly unhappy and not giving his all where he either plays shite or rots in the reserves. We need to get rid of him so asking for stupid fees is not really an option. The timing of this stinks, good riddance to the twot.

Wouldn't be against us going in for Alfie Jones (Hull) or Dael Fry (Boro). Both mid 20s and could offer some solidity and physicality at the back, and much cheaper than what we'd sell Faes for.
