From what I’m noticing this season most body-body contact is being let go (see Sumare at the end of the game)

but any slight contact with feet or grappling gets given.

From my watching it looks like Fatawu and their player just collide (more on Fatawu’s momentum) but there was no tripping/scything/manhandling so man up and play on!

Does anyone know if the handball for them was looked at? Looked a blatant handball block and I thought we should have had a pen but no replays on the stream I was watching

The one where Ayew has headed it back across the box? If so it hit his chest. If it was the shot from the edge of the box it got checked and cleared, my first thoughts on that was that it was from such close range and appeared to deflect that we would have been lucky to get it unless the defender had the arm in a really unnatural position but they didn't show a replay.

Yeah the one just before that header. Think winks had a shot and someone jumped Infront with arms stretched up. Looked stonewall on the first shot.

Agree. We’ve had a lot worse this season. Ipswich fans up in arms about him. I thought he was doing a great job of slowing the game down for them last 15

The penalty I would say they’re unlucky with, but they can spin after they got away with that one On KDH last season. Phillips red is totally justified over two bookings, he could also have easily been given a red for his first yellow.

All in all, he wasn’t great but we’ve had plenty worse this season.

He really was a whopper for this - Muric took the piss out of him

Anyone else think Tarkowski should have been sent off in their game? Late flying tackle into Archer well after ball had gone.

I’ve only seen it from one angle but imo, if you go in with that much force and miss the ball = red

I think we benefitted yesterday from Michael Oliver’s intervention last weekend.  You see it every time when there is a var mistake - the following round of games sees the pendulum swing too far the other way.  A few weeks ago we saw Martinez make a jump challenge which var didn’t sanction.  A week later you see Fernandez make a challenge with legs in the air which is given as a red and the var doesn’t get involved to reverse when he should.  Two rounds ago you saw ayew pulling the shirt and var didn’t give it. admitted as an error by PGMOL. The following week var gives the Man U challenge as a pen when it clearly wasn’t.

reckon next weekend you’ll see the var getting involved too much again because they’ll review this weekend and say that the fatawu challenge should have been a pen.

Proper PL referee today, gave absolutely everything, Chelsea learned pretty quickly they just had to hit the deck and he'd give them a FK no question. Didn't get any major calls wrong but just generally an annoying *****.

He was absolutely shocking today. The amount of soft fouls he gave them compared to us was a joke. Was Justin fouled in the build up to their goal? Fully believe if that’s on their player he gives a foul. To not give us a penalty for that foul on Mavididi is an absolute joke. Reading comments he’s always been very pro Chelsea apparently.

Eh? Stonewall penalty and potential foul in the build up to their goal

Should have booked all the Chelsea players that surrounded him. Refs ask for protection and then fail to use the tools given to them

Don't let refereeing performances cloud how terrible that performance was from our team.

Don’t remind me I’m trying to banish it from my mind

And perhaps he should have sent Wilf off too. He made several big errors at both teams' expense, and fell for every tumble a Chelsea player took.

It doesn't change the fact that we thoroughly deserved to lose. But the ref was awful, once again.

When they showed the clear foul on the screen lol absolute shambles. Check complete

Don’t think you’re supposed to either. That’s how bad the decision was.

You’ll be lucky to find anyone that says we deserved anything from the game or that we were good. But a lot of people will be in agreement that this arrogant arsehole gave Chelsea any soft foul he could and made some game changing decisions that went against us.

I’m yet to see the Justin incident back properly, but from my view if he’s giving Chelsea the soft fouls he is, then it’s no different here on Justin.
