I think people appreciate most of these things about his age and under normal circumstances I don't think anyone would be desperate to see a 15 year old play.

But it's a reflection on two things, isn't it? Firstly, how bad the alternatives in BDR and Ayew have to be for everyone to be pinning their hopes on Monga. Secondly, how atrocious the governance of the sport is that we think unless we  grovel to this shis 15 year old and impress him with Premier League minutes now, he's going to immediately be poached by a bigger club for free.

It's been a shit few years. People just want something to be excited about really.

It’s totally unfair and a $hite system but pot kettle black. We’re doing the same thing albeit at a lower level.

Chilwell was never truly one of our own. We nabbed him from Rushden and Diamonds at 12 years old and ended up pocketing 50 million plus for him. I doubt Rushden saw a penny of that. Everyone’s at it!

I’ve been told but can’t confirm that we actually nabbed Monga from Cov……

Monga has been with us since he was about 6-7 years old but it is true he comes from Coventry.

Where did he get carried away? He didn’t compare talent did he.

Spain played him as a 15 year old in the European Championships final FFS. Clearly Yamal is a generational talent but it’s all relative as we aren’t Barca/Spain.

The point being, they played a 15 year old as he was good enough relatively for them. We will be in the Championship and Monga will be good enough relatively for where we are at.

You’re saying a 15 year old should be shoved in the u18’s and not put in the first team. Using Yamal and others like Nwaneri as an example of 15 year olds being blooded is not comparing the players in any way other than age.

Exactly this.

@Tommy G the question you need to ask yourself is how did teams find out the like of Yamal and Nwaneri were good enough to play at that standard? It wasn’t by leaving them in the U18’s.

Thing we have to remember is he is not a pro footballer, he's still a kid at school. Wherever he ends up, you just hope he does himself proud and goes on to be something special. If it's for us great, but you can't hold it against him if he's destined for better/bigger things. Let's face it, we're not exactly top draw for developing exciting youngsters in recent times.  Preferring instead signing ageing pros who like to collect a beefy wage packet every month, and destroy the clubs heart.

Let's just hope Monga makes it big, and has a blue heart, and is the start of a new era for lcfc.

And now he can't run for shit

He couldn’t when he was with us playing out his contract.

Absolutely bossing it now he has the motivation back and a strict manager that has got him into shape. Villa’s player of a season by a country mile.

Another Rudkin success story

16 year old Reggie Walsh played a full 90 for Chelsea last night in the Conference League Semi Final.

Acheampong and George (both 19) started too and 17 year olds Mheuka and Antwi came off the bench too.

If Chelsea, after spending literal billions on players, can find significant minutes for academy players in a European semi final then the list of excuses for us not to be giving them more game time in an already relegated side become laughable

Chelsea give a 16 year old 90 minute in a semi final with players like Madueke, Neto, and Palmer on the bench and we can't bring ourselves to start a 15 year old over the likes of Ayew and McAteer

Chelsea have a more progressive and talented manager

At least Chelsea are playing their own academy players now, as supposed to our academy graduates…. Oh wait….

We'll soon find out. He will have to notify the club by early June if he is leaving us. Maybe he'll stay next season but still look to not sign a pro deal with us in the summer of 2026.

Can see the club putting him in an ultimatum situation of “sign a contract or no first team minutes” for next season to be honest, we have previous of doing this in the past with Tavares and Wanya (allegedly).

It's going to hurt when he goes

Be interesting if he wants to trade first team minutes for being back at u21 and u18 for a big club.

He can't sign a contract, so that's all a bit moot.

Every premier league game he plays under the age of 17 will make it very pricey for any team to come in to take him for "free" i think each premier league game he starts or plays as a sub etc adds millions to the end result if it went to a tribunal, this could put suiters off.

Another very good cameo.

If being overly critical, he made the wrong choice trying to play VK in but there were moments he glided with the ball into space.

Nice description- yes, he just glides: pure natural

I know he's probably gone but i really want to see him in the championship next season. :(

If these little cameos go well I'm not convinced he would go.

With us he can play first team football.  With any of the potential suitors he's going into their youth setups.

Only threat then is the multi club pricks who then loan them out for first team football in their network.  Like Man City with Girona.

But can he go abroad?  Don't know if there's rules on that for the yoof.
