The other obvious point (again said has someone whose no huge fan of the format of the FAB) those wearing suits might have simply met after work

Thats a fair point.

You have mentioned Southampton but Blades, Fulham and Everton all have a far corporate feel to theirs.

Look lets hope the club allow those on the panel some room to work in and it not just be a gloried FCC/your 90 minutes meeting as we are all well aware that these bring nowt.

Ironic that cos Everton’s FAB is one of those with a better format and actually made some big impact (ps helps when the Everton FC rep wants it to function to!)

Southampton managed it

Me and you both know Stan action is more important but you only need to see how perspective can affected things by looking at the social media.

You got folk waffling about no Union FS involvement yet one of the biggest parts of why the group has functioned for so long is on the FAB!

Same person that gave Wheelan both barrels in person over the summer about the £25 ST charge.

Most people crying in this thread would have completely bottled it in the same circumstances 👍

I know that was definitely the case for one of them.

I think it's just people reading into it a bit too much, that's all.

Is this thread going to point out every single community that’s not represented within the photo?

Ok

Where is the disabled person? …. And … they all look very heterosexual

Graeme (back left) has been chair of Foxes Pride for a few years now, so there's that part satisfied

Whether that's been a successful tenure or if he suits a spot on this FAB is another matter...

On the whole, this does feel very corporate and as a way to skirt past some of the actual opinions of fans and just get a few 'yes men' in place so they can say they're doing something...

Aah yes, because anybody homosexual must surely be a box ticker in this case and not there on merit.

Ridiculous

That’s not the point I was making. In fact it was the opposite!

If you read this thread through from the beginning you would see that people were making comments about the make up of the group. Any group is never going to be representative of every community whatever its intent. It seemed a bit ridiculous to me that the thread was going to continue in that vein until we mentioned everyone..

I was trying to put a stop to it in a slightly irreverent way. Obviously it was too subtle for you - my apologies

If it was meant to hold up a mirror, and in jest then I apologise as well.

This forum really is struggling to turn anything into a negative at the moment isn’t it?

No, there is plenty of negativity on here, and rightly so in a lot of cases regarding the club hierarchy.

And what should they dress like, as fans?

They want to look presentable, no? I don't see much wrong with it.

As others have said above, it's their actions in the next few months and beyond which will be telling, not that they chose to dress smartly for a photo op.

Should have done it like the Spice Girls, all of them ticking a different box.

One full kit willy puller

One with knuckle tats and stone island, talking about 'aving it'

One slightly odd, retired anorak wearing know it all/bore who will drone on about the same thing every meeting (a sort of Thracian type)

One perfect corporate fan who sits in the family stand, keeps all the clappers and spends £50 in the shop every game

One ultra style UFS type (I mean no offence, top effort from them)

One statto /XG nerd

I assume everyone moaning about this applied themselves?

I applied. Didn’t think I would get on. Happy for those that got elected.

A first glance of the thread title made me think someone was going to tell a story about their first meeting from a swingers site.....rather disappointed now

And Southampton have been ran fantastically over the last 5 years as a football club.

Have to agree on this - times in life I've met people who over email/electronic comms are completely different in real life lol

And the FAB has no say into how a football functions on the playing side.

Their FAB have been part of introducing a 7k safe standing section with their ground, switch the home/away support etc. Only been going for 2 years too

Reading through this thread it’s interesting how it’s almost an unconscious bias now to presume any appointment, anywhere, is heavily based on box ticking. It happens lots of course and I’m not naive enough to think it doesn’t. I sometimes have this way of thinking myself.
However, I only know one person on the board personally. I don’t know Emily well, but from my experience she’s exactly the right kind of person to be doing this. Someone who understands fan culture and fan engagement well and will challenge the club, without being a ‘Yes-woman’.
How successful this board will be in bringing change though, even if they’re all great people, is another matter. Fan engagement shouldn’t be that difficult, but It’s clear those making decisions in recent years have little understanding of that or fan culture. Breaking through the corporate words and what appears to be control because of various fears will be a massive task, perhaps impossible.

All seem very middle class, not intending to be patronising and not even sure how to describe what I mean but where's your average joe (M/F) 'shop floor' person who's just goes to enjoy the football on and off the pitch with mates or family. It seems like their job roles has got them appointed.

The club, to be fair, doesn’t care about anyone’s background.

KPFC only worries about how full your wallet is and how much they can grab.

And, let’s be serious, that committee is a joke, has no influence, isn’t respected, and will bring about no discernible change.
