Well im confused, Cooper selected exactly the side that so many have been clamouring for, the players for some periods even played the "Maresca way", Riccy was back, Mav and Fatawu both started... and still we looked second rate and lost easily.

Is it possible, that this squad is just a bit poor?

The squad isnt the best but it's more than capable of staying up. You can pick your strongest 11 but without proper tactics and a game plan you'll struggle still. You could see signs of that in the first half we played some good football. Once Nuno figured us out it was all over due to Coopers lack of ability to change things tactically.

This is exactly 100% the case.

Cooper has not got the ability to manage at this level.

It's clear the squad is more than good enough as the first half showed but once he is figured out then that's it.

Having just re watched the goals we conceded last night, alarm bells should be ringing at board level. Absolutely woeful defending, schoolboy level. Could have been five quite easily.

People commenting about Notts Forest being decent, we let them be!
Weak at the back and lacking a tough defensive midfielder, too easy to play through.

Switch Wilf and Winks around.

Get Cooper out.

Perhaps my memory isn’t what it once was but did Ricky really have a starting position next to winks last season when mads had the ball/ first pass was made from mads to a CB  ?

I seem to think that he moved up into midfield as we worked the ball around  - hence it wasn’t so easy to cut off passing lanes to him as it was for forest yesterday.  He just looked way too static compared to how we played last season ????

Winks was our best player. The 2nd half was absolutely woeful, both Fatawu and Mav were horrible, along with Justin. Those continually calling for Fatawu to start, really shouldn't. He's not yet consistent or good enough to start. I put him in the impact sub category at this stage in his career. Many more performances like the 2nd half last night and teams will take us apart with consummate ease.

If this set up was from the start of the season rather than 1/4 of the way,  they would be gelled and drilled in by now.  Last night was what the tail end of pre season should’ve been.

Justin making his weekly mistake to cost us a goal.  I thought a major weakness was when Okoli was playing out of the back, it should be Winks controlling the start of attacks.

Individual mistakes cost us. There was some good tight first time passing but too much of the creative output is being put on the shoulders of two young lads.

Hopefully Cooper won’t use this as an excuse to roll back to his turgid scrapping for 90 mins, no attack = more defence, players out of position and no right side.

Did you not see the state of Ayew when he came on? Fatawu was asked to try and beat 3 mean by himself all night.

People going in unfairly on the lad when the clown manager hung him out to dry

He was asked to beat three men because forest tactically got it spot on.  Trebled up on fatawu doubled up on Mavididi.  (a player by the way who looks totally disinterested, he needs a rocket up his backside).  Funnily enough bringing Ricardo back into the side, as most foxestalk wanted made us worse.

Yeah. Coming up against the 2nd best defence in the league currently outperforming the likes of Arsenal and Man City and having him doubled up on  definitely points to him not being ready to start any games. 100%.  A half decent winger would have had a field day against them, just like Mo Salah did when they played Liverpool.  Totally not overreacting at all.

We were out of it in second half.  I am not sure if it was us, or something they changed... or both? Any ideas?

Yet too many mistakes that were punished.   We need a safety first attitude (I haven't said that since the great escape)

The worrying thing is I’m a really sore loser and I just sat there for 10 minutes afterwards ,as I’m on crutches and just accepted it,against our rivals.Thats how I’m feeling about our club.

A foggy, diversion filled journey home still didn’t rile  me.They have made me numb.

The hardest part of this loss is seeing those cvnts in a Europa League position. 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮

We didbt deserve anything out of that game.   Frankly their passing in the last third was good... yet their goals came from out mistakes.  We gifted them their Europa spot.

I reckon they'll get top half simply because of the regular top half teams have self destructed, but they arent staying 5th unless Newcastle and Spurs keep up their inconsistency.

Pains me to say it, but I thought Forest looked really impressive. They've got that solid base and a really effective front 3. After the initial chaos following promotion, they've recruited well since.

Our defensive structure is a massive issue. We're shipping so many goals and we're lucky we have a brilliant young goalkeeper. Forest opened us up almost at will last night. 1-6 wouldn't have flattered them. I don't think he has a clue how to set up a side to defend. Even the Bournemouth game was a misnomer, they created so many chances that day.

I've said it since day 1, I don't really care that Cooper is ex-Forest. What bothers me is that he's a Championship manager. He's a Steve Bruce, Neil Warnock-type figure - decent in the second tier, not good enough at the top level.

100% agree

This whole notion we dislike him because he's ex Forest needs to be binned.

The reason we don't want him as our manager is that he's out of his depth and not good enough for a team of our statue. We aren't simply a newly promoted club hoping to stay up by being plucky, this isn't 2014.

Simply out of his depth....and I really couldn't explain to anyone what style of football we play either.

Take a chance on moyes....it might just steady the ship.

There's a lot of negativity and pain on this platform. Which I understand as we just lost to the trees. But I want to be pragmatic and recognise a positive. Yes we made catastrophic defensive errors, yes our final 3rd delivery was woeful. But some of the CM play yesterday to create space and move the ball up the park was really refreshing. And actually looked like football I could get behind.

Just saying!
