Who, Cooper? Probably, but you can't blame people for what you think might have happened in the future. It's not minority report! 😄 🤣

But he was sacked for being Poo now?

We are leaking goals and we decide to get a striker in as manager

We also have only had 12 shots on target at home. So Problems both ends really.

Corberan, meanwhile, was a candidate last summer and was viewed back then as a strong stylistic fit. Leicester felt he would be able to build on Maresca's system and a new approach has not been ruled out.”

So why didn’t we just go for Corberan in the summer then? 🙄

Because we didn't want to pay the release clause as we were embroiled in the FFP shiz then. We basically went for Cooper because we were skint.

We almost certainly avoided everyone in work in the summer because we were teetering on the brink of another rules breach and thought we were getting a points deduction as it was.

Really don’t like the idea of RVN. Feels far too risky considering he’s not really inspired much in his time as a manager for me. Seemed to fall out quick at PSV. United stint shouldn’t really give him much either because 50% of his games were against Cooper as his dire tactics.

I'd rather take a gamble than have David Moyes. We've tried that route with Cooper.

Can't link it from where I am but a couple of years ago Gary Neville went to PSV to interview Ruud Van Nistelrooy. It'll be on Youtube and it's worth a watch if he's to become our manager. Came across really well on it.

Edit:

Already posted.

Even that didn't make that much sense as the players didn't even report for duty until early July and we could have just waited until the new financial year and cough up the £3-4m or whatever.

I'm on the fence with RVN, he should be a priority interview alongside others like Schmidt/Corberan etc, I don't like how easily he fell out with PSV (although can understand why) given how badly of a clown show we have upstairs, and I thought he improved United quickly, but was that a manager bounce, he did play against us...
The other half of me thinks he's an exciting gamble and we have have time left to sack him in 12 games and go for Big Moyesy lol

I do get that, it’s just galling that we then ahead and spent loads on Cooper’s “Premier League Experience”

I don't care too much if it's interesting or not. What I really care about is staying up this season, because if we get relegated we are up to our necks in grief.

I completely understand this, but then how do we square that circle of not being able to afford the £4m, whilst signing Cooper and THEN spent £50m in the window + wages + sign on fees etc.
Surely by that logic we could have signed Corberan and given him £46m to spend? Am I missing something?

But then we wouldn't have been able to sign Ayew and Skipp.

I've got no real preference on who the next manager should be.  I'd rather we went with someone "new" and not the usual suspects (I'm looking at you David Moyes!).  Whoever comes in has got a challenge on their hands but I'd like it if we got in a manager with a future who might succeed rather than just not fail too badly.  I also don't want to hear again that "we are just a newly promoted side".
