Am thinking that Top might be changing his mind and might be in for Carsley, due to his England reputation.

It seems a bit quiet regarding Ruud now.

Sounds like he said no

The Dutch league is more like the Portuguese league than the spl - just wanted to put that out there.

for the record, rvn would not be my first choice, but not my last either. Somewhere in the middle.

Because Slot has proven to be rubbish right?

Quiet based on what?

The press in general seem quiet on Ruud now.

Too be fair it’s quiet full stop, I think given Sundays news and the fact not one media  outlet had an inkling prior to the announcement suggests that the club have closed ranks for this process.

Lee Carsley? Who started his career at Derby? Come to this City of pitchfork wielding anti Derby / Forest-ites (according to Cooper/media)? A few defeats and itl'l be Baah-rsley Out! Like a lamb to the slaughter he'll be for the chop in no time, even if your mint source tells you otherwise!

Think as a manager those leagues are good base to learn from.

As a coach of say PSV/Sporting, you have got to learn how to beat sides at the bottom (Zwolle/Portimonense), how to compete against rivals (Porto/Ajax) and then in Europe adopt the role of underdog.

Don't understand why we are looking at RVN. Dont understand the general obsession with appointing former high profile players as managers when they have little to no experience. Ie Cov binning off Robins for Lampard. Surely in the position we're in we need to be looking at someone with experience? The whole thing makes no sense at all.

Corberan would surely be a good bet instead!!

He's different to Lampard and Gerrard to some extent and equally hasn't this always happened with football? Bobby Charlton managed Preston after his career finished.

Van Nistelrooy has a wealth of experience compared to them pair. He was coaching PSV youth teams from 2013 and for a season, won two trophies and finished 2nd with PSV. Alongside this he's been assistant at a PL Club too. He's managed 93 games within competitive football.

We are hardly talking someone with little to no experience. The bloke has done the hard yards and a reasonable job in a decentish European league.

I am not overstruck on him but I don't think experience is the stick to beat with him unless we are talking outright PL experience which Corberan has none of as well.

Like Wes and O'Neill?

Both played for Forest. The difference between them pair and Cooper was that neither of them felt some weird bond for Forest - O'Neill left in a huff cos he fell out with Clough and Morgan wasn't getting his contract renewed. Cooper is like some bizarre modern hero for them.

Need a manager the older players will respect from the start.A big name like RVN would be a much better fit that Carsley who is unproven in Premier league

RvN is also unproven in the Premier League. The England squad seemed to love playing for Carsley and had a huge amount of respect for him when he was interim boss. He's obviously got something that players like.

'Kin 'ell it's going to be Carsley isn't it?

Or Corberan

Or Carrick

Or Cambiasso

Or Cuesta

Or Cifuentes

Either way, it’ll start with a C
