In the spirit of balance we drew a game at home after going 2-0 down. The bar is low.

Against a team challenging for the champions league places. And whilst they had the majority of the chances, we didn’t sit in. And many of the things we’ve been complaining about were noticeably improved….and it’s only been a week!

I feel better about survival now. But we definitely need new CBs in January. The xG against is too awful. We conceded about 30 shots at home to a crap West Ham team.

I don’t think the CB’s were to blame for the amount of shots West Ham had.

The majority of them were because the double pivot weren’t offering enough protection in the first half and neither winger offered much help to the full backs to prevent shooting opportunities.

Yet we saw an improvement against Brighton though?

His lexicon is excellent for someone whose second language is English. Very articulate dude.

Speaks four fluently, n'all.

He seems the type of person who would help others around him before himself and has a good heart - like Ranieri.

Definitely the most instantly likeable since claudio

We're a bit more suspect at the back as we have improved our edge up front.

All things considered it's the better of the 2 scenarios than that of coopers philosophy.

I welcome his attack minded approach. He was one of the best in the leagues history so hopefully he can help with our play up front.

Earky days and not without teething problems so far but If he can get a backroom team around him to work on the defensive side this could be promising....

Clearly we have a better chance of stopping up with RVN in charge than Cooper.
We’ll also benefit the longer O’Neil and Martin stay at their clubs. Can’t see either of those side’s getting out of it especially if they stay in charge.

Got it wrong today.

Okoli should’ve started along with Facundo.

Don't think it would've made that much difference really, the midfield would've had to stay the same and we still would've ended up with Ward in goal

Facundo  would make  a difference in any game.

He hasn’t been helped by the omission of our starting midfield……. Which some people seem to want to overlook.

Wasn’t great today, but both Skipp and Hamza are absolutely dreadful, so it’s hardly a surprise we’ve been slapped.

The one thing that is disheartening is we’ve appeared to just give up, which I’m not happy about.

Not sure he got it wrong as such, the results in the last 2 probably forced him to stick with the slowest central defence in the history of the Premier league.

However he needs to show he can do something to make us harder to play against.

Not necessarily, we have seen him have poor games this season

He wouldn't make that much difference really to the defensive and midfield issues we are having

See how he reacts to today's result, hopefully a few of these charlatans aren't in the squad again after today. Unfortunately I think he's out of his depth

True.

But Okoli has pace and Newcastle have it in abundance it would have at least helped combat it.

Facundo is a professional footballer, Kasey is some kid who’s won a competition.

I'm not convinced there was much he could of done today to get a positive result tbh. Hamza and skipp are just not close to being good enough at this level.

Plus Newcastle are a great side especially at home.

The positive will hopefully be Ruud has seen some of them for what they are first hand, some will be in for a horrendous week of training and others like Hamza will just never be considered ever again.

He was actually dreadful against West Ham, if he had started and played like he did then, we would be in the same position.

For me, we’ve not been able to get on the ball, because neither of the CM have the ability to do so, so naturally, Newcastle have had the run of St. James’ because their CM are a streets ahead of Skipp and Hamza.

I think Bilal needs to sit deeper when we've got a second string out, without the ability to pass in the midfield, you're fxxked.  It's arguable he should be deeper when we've got our first choice out.   We'd lack his edge further up but we'd probably get further up the pitch a lot more.

Put no blame on Ruud. He wasn't to know that Skipp and Hamza would be such an embarrassing combo. Mav another who's been awful as has JJ. Some players have badly let themselves down.
