Dyche wants backs to the wall defenders. Coady probably fits that (though Dyche didn't want to keep him) yet he'd still have to play at least one of Faes or Vestergaard who are as soft and erratic as anything.

The club is run by people who have been in post for the long time. There is complacency and an arrogance. They thought we were too good to go down a couple of years ago. And it's the same this season. Took too long to sack Rogers. Then too long to sack cooper when they could have done it during the international break. Then we are half way through the window with only 1 new signing. It's piss poor planning. 

After last night is probably the most frustrated I’ve felt all season, I still feel frustrated with the result today. 
 

It’s difficult to feel optimistic, but all I want to see is us stick to a plan like we saw last season. After the disaster of a relegation campaign, we got back on the right track with Enzo, he threw a spanner in the works by leaving, but we simply didn’t build on his work. 
 

There’s been a catalogue of errors since the 21/22 season, you can class it as complacency, arrogance, I like to use the word incompetence. 
 

Incompetent planning and not building on a particular plan that Enzo left behind has knocked us back. 
 

When you build on such a particular style, only to derail it by deviating away from that style by also recruiting differently to the previous style, then you’re going to be left with a disjointed squad. 
 

This team last season was set up to play a possession brand of football, now with RVN in charge we seem to have got that particular plan back on track, but elements of this squad that needed improving in the summer, still need improving now. hence the phrase you used “Piss poor planning”.

One thing I don’t see with Vestergaard is him being soft. Always seems strong to me, I could be wrong but he generally comes across solid in a ‘pure’ defending perspective. 
 

That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s effective overall, as we saw last night when he dropped in playing the opposition onside.

The funny thing is that even when we were 14th/15th under Cooper (and clearly even undeserving of being that high), Winks did an interview where he was adamant they should be higher. There was/is clearly still a sense in the squad that most of them are much better than where we are (where we heard that before?)

 

I wonder if recent results are making them question if they were all a bit harsh on Cooper's tactics, and it's them who need to look at themselves?

There was a genuine air of we should be doing better than 15th from the players though with Cooper. You'd think we were bottom and cut adrift the way Winks was going on. 

 

I think when Top went to speak to them all after the Copenhagen trip, he will have said right go and ****ing show me you're as good as you say. Problem is they aren't. I hate what we're becoming and we've had so many opportunities to turn it round.

managers tactics can't control whether players don't miss sitters or not. They can control whether you create said sitters in the first place. xG is not a misleading stat unless you use it incorrectly because you don't know what it's telling you. We are creating better chances under Ruud than we were under Cooper. Scoring less, but creating better chances, so offensively the tactics are sound and just needs a striker in form. Defensively we're giving up less but conceding more, suggesting the tactics are good enough to just scrape survival with a good keeper (something we're missing with mads out) and with less major errors undoing the tactics. There are issues to iron out, not major tactical failings that we're getting away with, as was the case under Cooper.

The whole manager situation just makes me more annoyed at Rudkin. We have improved since cooper but he’s been left with players that just aren’t premier league quality. That said, he did take the job knowing that …

The other thing I find strange and I guess this is because he wasn't in a role. Luton appoint Bloomfield from Wycombe is brings 3 staff with him instantly.

 

As are as I know we have appointed a keeper coach and Murphy. about 3 weeks apart, everything just seems disorganised.

Have many other coaches/managers at Leicester survived 6 maybe 7 defeats in a row? Rodgers at the start of 22/23 other than that not sure.

We went on a 16 game streak without a win in 01-02 this included a 6 game losing streak.

 

Not sure if we've had one since.
