Why should he quit - he has signed a contract and should expect to be paid it.

Brendan Rodgers (with a lot more credit in the bank) was berated for not quitting and walking away without millions owed from the club.

It is weird, has there ever been a situation like it?

If it's financial, surely the club can say to him, " thank you for your service, but we are going to let you go, but we can't pay your remuneration until this point when it will be official, but you're welcome to speak to other clubs".

That's what a normal functioning business would do.  But ours isn't a club. It's a cult. It's all about Thai things.

What a fall from grace. Beholden to a country famous only for stifling humidity and trannys.

Whatever anyone thinks of him and his managerial skills, if it is true that the board won’t talk to him to tell him either way, it’s truly an absolute disgrace.

People could berate Brendan all they want. The club signed a contract with him so the default position is that it will be honoured.

I would be shocked if Ruud walked. Might happen but very unlikely, but all this talk that its the honorable position to take is nonsense.  A contract has been signed and im pretty sure the club didnt give him what he was promised.

Is that what we’re thinking, the club trying to piss RVN off so much they’re hoping he walks? I can’t see it, but I agree with you on Rodger’s, I always blamed the club rather than Rodger’s, the man was ambitious, the club couldn’t fulfil that, Rodger’s wanted out but he wasn’t going to walk away from millions of pounds for free, he played the game and won

Despite everything, he can make himself a hero if he goes rogue. Get his pay out, don’t sign the NDA, tell the fans everything.

And never gets another job I football !

He ****ing put us in that position by signing the shit he did.

And o ambitious he's gone back to the SPL?

Honestly I know it's probably just forum wibble due to the complete lack of communication from the club... but if Ruud really does leave without an NDA and exposes the shitshow we all know is happening behind the scenes, he'll be my second favourite manager ever behind Pearson. :fishing:

On-field performances be damned, a media bombshell from him that brings the regime's face-saving deck of cards tumbling down and helps bring the King Power era to a close would be the best thing to happen to us since the FA Cup.

Somehow think dealing with the Polo playing twat and Rudkin isn’t as difficult

Putting aside for the moment the almost unanimous and justifiable disappointment/distain/contempt (choose your level) with/of KP and their sycophants, MattFox has hit on a great new acronym for Aiyawatt (I refuse to say T** because there’s nothing top about him). Can we please just say PPT.  Polo Playing Twat… perfect! 👍

Well if he 'really' doesn't want to be here then why should he stay? Hes earnt prob about a million over the last few months for doing the worst job possible to add to the millions hes already got. Money at this point means f all to him.

Perhaps he is a man of principle.....doesn't like being lied to?

Well assuming, as everyone believes, that he wasn't told the truth about any alleged January budget surely being lied to is just another reason for him to quit if he really does want to.

Because he would have "quit" two jobs in succesion.....doesn't look good.

Yep. Won't happen obviously but I'd genuinely forgive his tenure if he made them look like twats - not that they need much help.

But as I put earlier his managerial rep is already beyond repair due to the horrific job he's done. Quitting and not taking the payout is about the only thing he could do now to make him attractive to other clubs.

Try having a look at who he signed, why he signed them, the thoughts at the time and what budget he was given and ask was it enough?

Soumare - a Ligue 1 winning defender that could carry the ball from a defensive position through the lines, someone to team up with Youri as Ndidi was struggling.

Daka - A striker bagging goals.for fun keeping Haaland on the bench

Lookman- a creative winger, we could have taken him for £12-£13m, what's his value now?

Vestegaard - we needed height to see out games, and also to replace Morgan/fuchs who were bench players anyway, had also just had a blindingly good Euros campaign.

Bertrand - Free, and experienced squad player to replace fuchs and see out games.

On paper, these should have been good signings, our problem wasnt they were bad signings, its that we messed up with what we gave them in wages meaning we haven't been able to move them on.

When I say Rodgers was ambitious, I mean ambitious with us, he wanted CL and would have had it had we made January signings those 2 seasons we blew it

Rodger’s had stated both that we/he had been looking at Vestegaard for some time and he was impressed (or something on those line), and also that he had no say at all in the Vestegaard signing. That in itself got back up about Rodger. Bertrand should have been a good free transfer on paper and Rodger’s would have talked him up and I'm sure is one of the reasons for his high wages. With hindsight we should probably have signed Lookman and took the PSR hit, but still stayed up. the likelihood is he would probably have been injured at Seagrave like all new signings at the time….

another point to consider is that if we had been more frugal with wage offers, and if those offers had been accepted, would we have also signed other players that actually strengthened our squad? Maybe, maybe not.

its hard to judge RVN on transfers at this point.

Soumare's stats showed he didn't play a significant role in the ligue1 winning season. When Daka was bought in they immediately tried to change him, and turn him into something he wasn't. Lookman was always playing 2nd fiddle to other options, and think he had to get away from Brendan ball to reach his potential. Vesty always looked like a horse unless Denmark played 7 at the back, and Bertrand was his mate with business links to his sons and agent and pretty sure Brendan himself did nicely out of that.

Brendan had this 'ideal' that he could sort out rough diamonds. Most of those signings were rough diamonds that were paid as if they weren't. But Brendan still thought he lived in the footballing world where if something doesn't work, you cast them off and get rid for a loss. Our board were stupid enough to believe Brendan would sort out that lot, turn them into world beaters and Chelsea will come for them all licking their lips.

The biggest issue with Brendan was him trying to expand his power base / influence beyond coaching / Top agreeing to bring in Congerton.

We shouldn’t never have moved from likes of Walsh and Macia.
