The idea that Pep or prime Fergie couldn’t keep this squad up is just laughable.

squads just as bad as us have stayed up in the past because the managers knew how to defensively structure a team. Ruud for all of the improvements he’s made in transition clearly has absolutely zero idea of how to stop us leaking goals, teams that have stayed up in the past but been poor do so because the manager instils fight in them. We have less fight now than we did under Cooper somehow.

I’d take Dyche any day of the week….

You think its bad now, that would be it for me. Here's your first Dyche line up

Faes Coady (c) Vestergaard Okoli

Soumare Ndidi Reid

Ayew Vardy McAteer

I agree to a point, and 100% worth a try.

But we have little pace in the squad to play on the counter.

Not sure 3 poor CBs is better then 2, and we are tragic a defending cross.

We need Wilf back and a new CB who a beast and a leader to stand a chance!

We need an old school defender, body on the line, head and kick everything away.

Them pair of piss ants, are embarrassing.

Nah, think he would go five at the back and it would probably be a good thing.

It is quite funny that in the Cooper Out thread the narrative was ‘we could get a manger out of the stands to do better’.

Now we’ve almost something like that it’s ’nobody could keep this shite up’.

He’s use to not working with any money. Always use to make comments about us when he was at Burnley

Pearson as DOF and Dyche as manager would be box office.

Dyche loves nothing more than a flat back four of centre backs, with many defensive midfielders

Clearly been stitched up and I don’t think anyone at all would blame him if he walked away.

But as others have said, doing it to 2 clubs in a row probably isn’t gonna help him long-term.

I can actually see him staying until the end of the season, then walking away and taking shots at the board. That would actually show him in quite a good light.

It really does go to show the absolute calamity that is happening at board level. From the second Enzo left, they’ve been winging it. Granted, him leaving wasn’t expected and they weren’t expecting to make a managerial appointment for a couple of years, but my God, Cooper!! Now Ruud!!

It’s so sad that the legacy of King power ownership that should’ve been enshrined forever as a positive memory in the clubs history, is inevitably going to come to an end in the darkest possible way.

Good post.. and exactly my take on the situation..

Taking the current inactivity  in the transfer window, and after being told he would be backed to some degree ( I appreciate that 1 player it technically

"Some degree", but you can see my point) I personally wouldn't be surprised if he went under his own steam soon.

Basics. Low block, back four stay narrow..pack midfield. Pace up top. The most basic of stuff

Simple isn't it.

Few home truths might have to be told, it might upset a few (On and off the pitch) but back to basics and just be hard to bloody beat.

I made the comments a few months ago - they're supposedly professional flaming footballers but they literally need spoon-feeding. Basics.

Football's a simple game. Then the geeks came along.

isn't that what Cooper tried to play and why we had so many shots against us?

May have yeah, but it yeilded less goals.

Perma-predictions of hammerings every week under Cooper and we didn't have hammering, since he went we've had 4.

"BuT wE'vE bEeN wItHoUt MaDs, He SaVed CoOpEr FrOm HaMmErInGs!"

2.5 of them came while Mads was in goal.

Luck or not, facts and stats say we we're also scoring more before.

Indeed.

It doesn't hurt because it's Forest that are being successful doing it, it hurts because that used to be us.

they have decent defenders and pace  up front

Following on from the comment above. We did, we used to, until fairly recent but instead it was ripped up and the remit changed to what we have become.

A championship promotion?

When we go down it will be a case of maintaining  our championship status not promotion unfortunately

I think we're unlikely to see a mass exodus of quality like last time. Will most definitely be selling Mads, probably selling or loaning Soumare again. And some of those high earners who already wanted out will want out again - Faes, Daka.

Under the right manager we should HMS Piss the League again.

I was saying to my Dad, wonder what the reaction would be if he made changes after 25 minutes pulling ayew for mav, facundo or kacey because it was clear from then, it wasn't working

while we'd love to see it, that's one way to rapidly lose the dressing room. if you start humiliating the players in public you're a dead man walking, particularly here when there's no standards and they can go crying to Aiyawatt

How did you come up with that line up?

It's as if you have deliberately chosen  the worst possible players that "could" play in each position just to prove your point of not rating Dyche. (Oh you forgot Ward in goal)

Dyche is not not stupid, and he's considerably more experienced than RVN. at Premiership level and as a manager as a whole.

I'm sure he has some idea (like we do) that Winks, Bilal, Facundo and a property motivated and coached Stephy are all better options in the positions you have chosen.

I made a similar post a couple of weeks ago, but this one has slightly changed.

The board have lied to Ruud, a few weeks ago he was told we had funds, clearly we're scraping the barrel and finding nothing. Ultimately, Ruud HAS to work with what he's got. Not his fault. (Sack Rudkin)

- He has to tweak he's idea of ' 3 box 3'

- Faes is too risky and doesn't care

- We need to be less open (Compact the back)

- I like Winks but he needs a rest, Ndidi and Soumare can work well. Ndidi for his defensive prowess, Soumare for his progressive runs.

- Coady is better in a back free and his communication is clearly better than Faes

- Woyo needs a start, the glimpses we've seen he could work well Infront of a back 3

Here is my updated idea of 3-4-2-1. Surely this is better than our current ideas/ formation. For the love of God use Okoli at least he wants to play, and having 3 centre backs will help compact the box more.

If that is the case, then it would at least be nice if this time they gave some thought to what comes next.

I'd prefer us to properly build and restructure over several years in the FLC than to see more quick fixes.

Chances are we would still have likes of Vestergaard, Coady, JJ, Bobby Reid and Ayew - doubt we will be able to move all of them on.

Will we be able to off load Skipp without incurring a PSR loss.

Still lots of work to be done to rebalance the squad - so again key to move Rudders at least sideways and bring in a top operator as sports director

Has he got his own back room team in place since he came or has he inherited what was left?

We appoint an experienced manager instead of a name after Cooper went and we get at least another win and draw from the games against Wolves, Palace, Fulham and Everton. Shocking decision the board.

Nobody experienced would be interested let’s be honest.

I have been saying for a while we need to go to a back 3 with the defenders we have.

I’d give Justin the nod at RCB in this over Coady though. If I was an opposing manager playing against that i’d be trying to suck our RWB high up the pitch to expose that lack of pace on the right side of defence with that set up.

It would need Justin in for the pace and Faes would be nowhere near my starting 11 so would have to be Justin.

At the time when Cooper went they would. We were outside the relegation zone all be it by a couple of points but I think there would be interest. Looking at who wolves and Southampton got and they went with experience. We went with a name.

Said at the time RVN was a gamble, especially when it was inevitable that we were always going to be in a relegation battle. Signings like Ayew, Skipp and BDC in the summer were atrocious signings, that's before you factor in the fee for Skipp. The correct appointment after coopers sacking was go all out for Moyes. That level of premier league experience is invaluable.

I cannot believe that so far in a battle to stay up we've only acquired Coulibaly. RVN may not be upto the task but isnt the only problem. We need managerial  stability and the board should be at least backing him with a couple more signings.
