The squad is shit.

The gulf between the Prem and Championship is ever increasing. We beat QPR 6-2 (i think) in the cup. Using Maresca getting a tune out of the players isn't even comparable.

I was firmly Cooper out but on reflection both him and RVN have been given a bad hand. The difference being is Cooper had a preseason and a possible hand in our signings. Any **** in charge would not keep this shower up

Would a better manager have got better results, I dare say yes, they could. Would it have been enough for us to stay up? Possibly

Could a new manager come in and now and reverse the rot? Absolutely not. We are broken and this rot is far to deep for such a rapid recovery.

Ruud came in with promises of money to spend - absolute lies. Pipes put it perfectly by describing the situation as like trying to ice skate uphill. The board have been the issue for years and the manager always takes the blame. I’m sympathising more with BR as time goes on. The board are killing the club.

Sh1t appointment of a sh1t manager in the summer. Cooper was a negative choice from the start, he was a complete departure from what had been a successful system that the players enjoyed. He then either didn’t have the balls or the backing to properly strengthen in the summer (or, if he thought he did, then his skills in the market are as bad as his tactics).
He wasn’t strong enough to totally get his ideas across and the team clearly did not take to his style of play. No issues when we sacked him, I think we were not showing signs of potential improvement and the Board was pretty decisive after learning the lessons of Rodgers.

However, we made another mistake in the appointment of RVN - the Board seemed to be of the view that a bigger name could just sort the team out. I didn’t see that Ruud had any particular credentials apart from doing OK in the Dutch league and giving MU a short term boost. He’s now showing that the Premier League needs more than a big name. He may have had more respect from the squad on day one than Cooper, but he’s frankly been woeful as a manager and arguably worse than Cooper.

The players are not blameless, but I think they have enough about them to be doing better if coached properly. The ones that obviously don’t - Faes, Justin, Ward - shouldn’t be picked and probably should have gone in the summer.

Getting rid of Ruud will be costly in terms of both finance and our reputation. We would become a particularly unattractive proposition so it would be dangerous - I cannot see who we could feasibly get in, so I think we probably end up having to take the hit of relegation and hope that either Ruud considers himself above the Championship (he’s not) or he walks because we didn’t back him. If we avoid a big payout on his contract, that seems like about the best we could get at this moment. Go back to the Maresca blueprint of a hungry, intelligent manager and try again.

I don't think anyone keeps this group up.

Some might argue someone like Dyche might do the job, but long term it would be suicide. The lot needs to be ripped apart and started again, I don't want to be stuck with a firefighter style appointment with that ahead of us.

Let Ruud see the job out and build something of his own in the summer (Which at this point wouldn't be my preference) or go and find another Maresca (someone with a plan) to rip it apart and start again.

The problem isn’t the manager. The problem lies in the reasons we are shopping in the bargain basement for the likes of BCDR and Ayew.

That Rudkin has the audacity to turn up to games is also starting to wind me up. Do you think he realises or appreciates why fans might be a bit annoyed?

He’s Dutch. This is the system. There’s no other way.

Hired a name instead of going for an experienced manager.
Those that didn’t want Corberan in the summer , he’s currently won 5 out of 9 with Valencia. Shocking miss management.
Instead we ended up with Skipp and Ayew for a combined 30m.

It's almost like Cooper was at the helm when this squad was assembled.

What’s that go to do with the fact that the hopelessness and despair has come watching RVN team lose most weeks show less attacking and defensive qualities than the predecessor.
Everyone knew it would be a struggle, but the points he has amassed so far would have him earning about 20 for the season. Which puts us in the lower echelons of some of the worst teams ever in the league

Imagine thinking the squad is playing any worse than we did under Cooper. I don't know what else to tell you.

Coberan was the obvious choice and attainable.

Big balls up by John.

Last 12 games compared to the first 12

20% More goals conceded

40% Less goals scored

25% less points

9 defeats from 10

Must of missed something

Can’t blame the current manager for our performances, the squad isn’t good enough for the PL. Far too many players he’s inherited are garbage. Not sure what his contract states regarding relegation but wouldn’t blame him if he walked next season.

All the staff are Coopers, not really a good recipe.

The revamp needs to start in the boardroom, and that won’t happen. We will sink lower and lower until Top eventually sells the club.

I know he's got a shit squad to work from but the only choices are not Reid and Ayew.

They're the two that seem to let us down the most considering we need goals to actually fvcking win a game.

Can't really fault many of the others today (barring no one marking Merino for their first goal).

But mate, help yourself out sometimes!

Make a change at half time. Be proactive. Can't always wait til we go a goal down to change something.

if by all you mean

Steve Cooper's backroom staff at Leicester City included Alan Tate, Andrew Hughes, and Danny Alcock.

Cooper was the manager of Leicester City until he was fired in November 2024.

Former staff members

Alan Tate: Assistant manager who left Leicester City along with Cooper

Steve Rands: First team coach and analyst who left Leicester City along with Cooper

So just Alcock, who was probably superseded by RVN bringing in his own goalkeeping coach

The part where one was allowed to spend £22m on Oliver Skipp and the other has had to make do with the mess and a board that lied to him about what he could do in January.

The defence was garbage under Cooper and it's garbage now.

The major difference between the two is goal threat. That I'll grant you.

Cooper's tactic was spin the wheel and sometimes you win. Utter no brain.

RvN has a philosophy and was probably told the he could recruit to fit it because the people running the club are delusional.

But it'll take time to cook with the shite he's got to work with.

What is it? Because despite being desperate for experienced players even Cooper wasn't starting Ayew and Reid, especially together.

More reason to blame Rudkin and the club.

Enzo - The new head coach is bringing six staff with him from Leicester City,

When you consider that Facu was one of the only bright sparks early on in the season and looked like a game changer. It’s odd he has been alienated.
