I was thinking about our 11 this morning and we've got some absolutely gaping holes in terms of quality.

Right back  - Justin isn't fit for purpose but we have no realistic alternative (BDR would be an unknown entity).

Centre half - if we're playing a four then we basically have to start Faes, who is a disaster waiting to happen. Okoli injured, JV/CC nowhere near the level needed (Coady) or fast enough (JV) to play in a four at this level

Central midfield - Wilf is the only one who can win the ball but Saturday looked like he'd forgotten how to do it. Soumare sporadic, Skipp clearly not up to it, Winks injured, Choudhury a league 1 player

Up front - relying on a 38yo to get the goals. Only one out and out winger available.

It's not a stretch to say that we need 5 new first team players in January lol

Actually think you've missed more than you've hit with this post :D.

Hamza can play RB and absolutely IS 'realisitic' at this current stage. Faes cannot play again! Okoli is fit I believe. I'd go him in a pair with Coady/JV. Wilf is pure ass so shouldn't be in the middle. Skipp hasn't been given that many chances at all to be written off. Vardy still scores goals.

Fair play for that post though!

Interestingly he called Enzo “A good friend”.

He convinced him to take the Leicester job so can't be that close.

Who is injured tonight? If Choudhury, Winks are good to go we could put Wilf and Choudhury in defence Winks, Skipp in midfield and shoe in elkhan as well. I know this is a bit radical but can they be any worse?

That’s the team lads and lasses.

Swap Mavididi for Ayew and move Bilal to 10.

I'd go

Hermansen

Hamza

Okoli

Vesty

Thomas

Skipp
Wilf

Buonanotte

Mavi

Bilal

Vardy

Ayew to come on

I'm just looking for any positivity really i.e better team selection (although he's got twonks in his ear and won't have the full SP for a few weeks), better shape and much more desire from the players

Why on earth are you starting LT ahead of VK?

My guess for that selection would be that people seemed to think Thomas did well at containing Mbeumo the other day. For me VK can offer more offensively if deployed in that way.

Certainly wouldn't be taking anything Dawson did as something Ruud might do. I imagine he wasn't impressed...

Winks is still out. We're seeing how Okoli reacted to training, he might be OK to play.

This would be the best team hopefully Ruud goes with something like this, West Ham are there for the taking

I can see Thomas playing he was best of a bad bunch on saturday.  No Winks, therefore I would like to see Skipp.  Mavs has to play to give us some width, ad we go back to a back 4, I think Faes needs to be dropped, the guy needs a kick up the back side, and hopefully he will lose abit of arrogance and go back to basics.  If he plays Antonio will be licking his chops at the thought of raping Faes.

Overall, I hope the team get a bit of a boost and play with energy but we are too leaky at the back, and RVN has had little time, so the best I think we will get would be a draw.

Off the top of my head I couldn’t say but always felt like we’ve struggled against West Ham.

On the other hand, the win v W Ham in 2015 was the start of the Great Escape run, and look where that led ... :scarf:

We also beat them last game of the season when we went down.

To be honest 2 days of work really isn’t enough to massively turn things around, but if Ruud can get a basic defensive structure into the team, and get the players fighting we could see a massive improvement. All I care about is performance here, result is ideally needed but he’s taken over a complete mess, so I can’t expect much from him so early on, just fight for the badge, never shirk a tackle and hope Buonanotte, Vardy or Mavididi can produce a piece of magic.

I have a feeling we might need 3 pieces of magic to win the game!

I've weirdly maintained a soft spot for Luke Thomas. He's got obvious weaknesses to his game and the Luke Thomas we see now is not the same as the one who was assisting in the FA Cup final or his MOTM performance vs Liverpool but he's young enough to be able to slowly rebuild his career to that level again IMO.

If he plays, he will always get my support.

I agree with you, but can we afford to play to his strengths and minimise his weaknesses? Think we’ve got enough of that going on in the team at the moment.

inb4 ruud whispers magic advice in his ear and I look like an idiot
