Half time none league Market Harborough are winning 2-1 against league one Reading who without doubt have been the better team. However Harborough have fought and scrapped for every ball and played with passion energy and togetherness.
We were at Brentford yesterday and saw none of the above.

fingers crossed for the 2nd half !!

Even if they lose now, they've created a lot of exposure to the club in the public eye.

Probably been asked before but has any other Leicestershire side after us gone this far?

Maybe Loughborough a century or more ago. I seem to remember Shepshed, Coalville and possibly Enderby getting to the 1st round proper.

Hinckley must have done?

Looking through the football club history database it seems that none of those have gone past round 1.

Round 2 in 2004. Managed by Dean Thomas.

Televised live.

I didn't know they got to R2 but I'd forgotten their run to R1 in the late 90s with Sam McMahon playing for them.

I think they beat Torquay in the first round 2-0 and then lost to Stevenage inRound 2 after a replay. The first game at home was on BBC with Lineker/Hansen etc.

We’ve just got back from a weekend darn saaaf. Brentford yesterday, hotel overnight and The Harbs game today.

Today was one of THE BEST ends we’ve been in for a long long time.

Non stop singing, loud, vocal and just incredible  Absolute scenes and limbs at every goal and The Bees should be massively proud of themselves today.

it seriously puts into perspective the shit dross that has become the KP experience.

A huge one off event today but I’d take half of that support every day of the week against what I normally have to suffer.

Massive Massive reps to every one of the 3000+ fans that made it the occasion it was and a huge well done to Harborough Town. You did the club and town proud.

Went as well. I've never been to a Harborough game so unashamedly on the bandwagon for it. My fear was they'd go and lose about 6-0 and I'd just travelled to Reading for nothing but it was well worth it. Best game I've seen this season I'd say and as rightly pointed out a really good end. Just noticeably noisy. Everything about it was better than I thought it was going to be. The amount of times I turned to the scoreboard and it was later in the game than I thought it was - sign that I was enjoying it.

For some illogical reason (well, beyond me) the FA Cup decided to avoid replays. I can understand (but disagree) at third round and beyond but surely not for first and second round. What a great game that would have been for Harborough - an almost certain televised game, packed ground , and the enthusiasm throughout the town. The FA should change their policy; not going to help Harborough but for similar clubs for next season.

The policy is there for the rich clubs who complain about too many fixtures while they are off galavanting around the world instead of looking after the structure that made them. Not going to change, unfortunately.

It's very shush, shush but the policy has been largely unchallenged because most clubs from the bottom end of the Championship to the middle of the National League were losing money hosting midweek winter replays (unless the TV stepped in).

For example, if you look at last year's competition, Second Round replays. Port Vale v Stevenage just scrapped 2k (Vale 4k for 1st Round), Stockport v Aldershot 3k (Stockport got 7k in 1st Round), Walsall v Alfreton just over 2k. Those attendances are away down on what they can normally pull for a Saturday fixture.

That the logistical challenges for the non-league clubs was getting hard to host such games. It's very sad but a huge sign of the times.
