I know it’s not half way yet but I feel if we win this we’ll stay up and if we don’t it’s going to be very difficult. We lose we just give hope to the ones below us, we win we drag another 2 teams in it with us

So what if we get beat like 0-3 and play like the Newcastle game?

Yes this is massive but also for RVN and how the team play.

i would expect us to go all out guns blazing and look to score more goals than we concede.

i don’t see RVN has great tactical nous but hope I’m proved wrong and see him being like Keegan style management and would take that anyday.

i think Sunday I’ll be the most nervous for some time as a win would be crucial and losing will damage confidence and I’ll think we’re just deteriorate further.

I would take a draw if I saw some pattern and structure but this is the big test as it will tell us a lot.

Incredible pre game feeling the night before. West Ham at home. Everton. United for the top 4. Spurs for the top 4. United away for the title. Feels crazy to have a similar feeling but it does feel like that.

Please show up boys.

Of course there isn't. Why would we reveal to Wolves if he was fit or not?

Yeah fair point, can’t argue with that! Just an observation.

Someone said further up the thread, would this be the case if Wolves were playing Liverpool this weekend. I’d like to say it wouldn’t matter and the situation would be the same. But I think most of us know that wouldn’t be the case and this would have been dealt with before the weekend and resulted in a ban.

Yes it would be the same, the FA aren’t going to manipulate their processes to benefit Liverpool and impede Leicester. It’s just one of those frustrating things that we need to get over.

Scousers would still complain - they've not got their best player so they will try harder or something...

Imagine how Liverpool fans would kick off though if a player who should be banned played and contributed to taking point(s) of them. There would be media campaigns, demands to replay the game and all sorts.

It’s not so much saying it’s a case of ‘oh they’re playing Leicester so let’s screw them over’ but more musing whether it’d have been dealt with quicker if it was to the benefit of certain other clubs. I guess it depends whether you think a week is a really unreasonable timeframe for them to look at some widely available footage and say ‘yeah that was wrong so you’re banned’.  It is a perfectly reasonable timeframe so if they were inclined to, surely there’s no doubt they the ban ‘could’ have been implemented in time for this weekend.

Can we please bloody turn up today and give this lot a working over early for a change.

They should be totally all over the place and it would be great if we could stop the opposition looking like bloody Barcelona early doors.

COYB a win today would go a long way

Bit of a ‘meh’ game today. Obviously it would be nicer to win than to lose, but it’s not that important and the result won’t have much bearing on our season either way.

I believe this will be a season of small gains and avoided losses - if the team consolidates under van Nistelrooy. Every draw or win we can grind out is essential - and fighting from the off to deter the opposition from getting an advantage.

So I think this one is the best opportunity to get a foothold away from the slippery slope we've been trying to scramble away from. It could be a major confidence booster. I'm just hoping Nistelrooy is creating a fresh mentality - it's hard to imagine how players can become apathetic or uninterested in doing their best for the club which provides their living, but, excluding a handful of players, there are those who need to realise that they have a role other than just playing football. Commitment is the name of the game.

Win today, followed by 3 defeats on the bounce.

Rudkin announces 3 year deal for Ashley Young to solve defence problems and Rustie Lee is back serving Pukka Pies.
