Today wasn’t just a horrific result. It was the inevitable consequence of years of self-harm by a man not fit to run a bath. It’s his decisions that have run our club into the ground and the precipice of financial ruin. It is him that continues to back the worst Director of Football the professional football pyramid has even seen. It is him that has driven the culture of non-engagement, contempt and total disdain for the people - the fans - that are the lifeblood of a club. Yet, somehow he has managed to surpass all of these utterly bewildering and dreadful decisions with the appointment of the Poundland Pep.

I thought they were crap at the time, but I think almost every player in our 2008/09 team would get into our first XI now.

 

Unfortunately that also includes the “youth” players like Braybrooke (who will turn 23 this season, in contrast to Andy King who turned 20 during 08/09).

 

There was also a base level of fitness and application that has been missing from the squad for a couple of years.

I assume you mean 07/08 because 08/09 would polish these guys off 4-0, Dickov coming off the bench to add an injury time fourth.

It does clearly seem a direct comparison of our previous and only L1 squad and this one so 08/09. And that squad would absolutely wipe the floor with this side. Probably Joseph or Aluko instead of Kerrea Gilbert and Alves would be competition for the wings but that’s about it. Probably a bit harsh on Braybrooke but the 4 central midfielders were used that season were Matt Oakley, Andy King, Mark Davies and Tom Cleverley. No competition.

Sat in our lowest ever position, and yet, there’s still no uprising? Tifo’s, clapping and bling optimism, none of this will save the club when it’s on the brink of death. 
 

Plenty of long term loyal fans fave up their ST this year because presumably they had, had enough, and saw the writing on the wall….. at the end of the day, there’s no recovery under King Power, and our only hope is…

 

 

1. we get bought out, quickly before shit properly hits the fan.

 

2. when we enter administration someone decent buys us…… but we will be beyond rock bottom. 
 

Facts are, things are going to get worse, I’ve seen someone say recently “we will win the league and no one can convince me otherwise”…. Well, there’s zero evidence to back this up, however, there’s plenty of evidence to suggest we’re heading for bust. The commitment for the future has gone, Top and king power have interest in further investment, so we’re just going to drift into the darkness, and pray a miracle happens before we go under. 
 

We’re getting relegated at things stand, Martin is a disaster, he will continue to fail until he is eventually sacked far too late, we will be in exactly the same position as we were last season, pissing around with no manager further tumbling into disarray….

 

Either way, this is going to be the worst season in this clubs history, promotion isn’t something we need to worry about, what we need to worry about is even having a team to support……

We shouldn't be shocked when considering the years of failure under this spoiled little twat, but for him to appoint a shite manager like Russell Martin and not even give him the players he needs to play his extremely rigid tactical system when the future of the club depends on us going straight back up is truly shocking even for him.

Utter madness and the worst of both worlds. While many of us got a bit bored with the rigidity of Enzo's possession based system at least he was backed by the club in the market. Now we have Caleb Okoli trying to turn on the edge of the six yard box with passing options of Skipp and Thomas

People saying "it doesn't matter who comes in as manager, the problems are bigger" are essentially correct but we literally just needed one half decent manager at some point over the last 24 months instead of a series of 6 utter clowns and we'd undoubtedly be in a better position, albeit still basically in the shit.

Thing is these clowns aren’t capable or probably won’t be attractive to a decent manager. Rudkin is clearly influencing team selection, it’s the only possible explanation for the rinse in repeat same shite, same players.

I thought that last season, but you would have thought with so many gone now that this wouldnt be the case. 

 

Unless we presume they play Skipp just because of the high transfer fee?
