And Brentford will shortly do the same, by appointing a manager most of us have never heard of but whose profile and football philosophy is just right for them, all before we get to know that RvN is in fact leaving...

Heard a sad tale yesterday. Me and my Dad knew one of the stewards who worked in the Kop, really nice guy called Derek. 

 

We always had a chat with him before the games and he was a sound guy. 

 

My Dad told me yesterday that Derek had died and someone who went to his funeral said there was no representation from LCFC at his funeral - and he'd worked for the club for 45 years.  

 

Pretty much sums the club up these days.

Brentford's response to having their manager poached will put us to shame. 

 

The club was in it's strongest position in it's history 4 years ago and now we're significantly below Brentford and Boscombe Athletic in the pecking order.

Matthew Benham will use his Smartodds and data for the new manager, similar to how Brighton do.

I wouldn't be surprised to see another Scandinavian in charge there next season, using his links with Midtjylland.

pretty sure Brentford will be relegated in the next 4 seasons, big clubs nab your manager and better players. in fact i think they will be in the bottom 5 next season although i hope they are not

Depends really, similar predictions were made about Bournemouth last season for the same reasons and they finished top 10.

Birch would have done this in the past....he's not well enough to do it now. No one else at the club would bother with that, they're all too worried about looking good in front of Top.

Unlike us they use data and have contingency plans in place that will give them the best chance of continuity.

Birch was well enough to attend games last season so I'm sure he could of attended a funeral.

He wasn't....barely attended any and needed help to get to the games he did. And in addition to that, you should have seen the sheer number he used to attend. There's people that need criticising for their commitment to the club whilst being employed, I'm certain Birch isn't one of them.
