les-tah Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 With Rogers and Duran out for villa that certainly weakens their attack against our god awful defence. If we play like we did against man city and Winks, Bilal, Soumare play out their skin we can get something 4

chesterfox Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Not sure we'll get a result at Villa Park, but I've become increasingly confident that we will turn it around and end up out of the relegation zone. I simply didn't see that we had the quality but these last two games will show us the way - Facundo, Vards, BeK & Soumare to play big parts in the turnaround. LTID 2
Chelmofox Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 (edited) I think its coming together. Ironically, its the scoring bit causing the issues which wasnt the case earlier in the season, and this is where i have been wary about playing Vardy so much. Facundo should have scored at least 1 of the 3 golden chances he had and Vardy should have bagged at least once against Man City. The play in the last 2 is much better and the chances we are creating are better. I'm willing to put 2nd half of Newcastle and all of Wolves behind me down the the Ward factor. But, (and its a big but) if Ruud had to abandon coaching a style because of Iversens inability, then im willing to accept why they risks Ward for Wolves. If Ward could have played out of his skin, it would have worked. But i don't think we play like we did against Man City if we abandoned how Ruud wanted to coach to accommodate Iversen. RowlattsFox Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 So which Villa forward hasn't scored this season? Buendia? Philogene? 1 2
Clever Fox Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Hopefully we catch them off guard sd I think they've more of an eye on Europe. A few injuries to them will help.

majaco Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Schmeichel Castagne Evans Fofana Chilwell Tielemans KDH Maddison Perez Wood Barnes A lot of good players are in recent memory. Some have gone for big money. From our current squad, only El Khannouss, Hermansen, Vardy and Bouanotte are on a level. And so e optimism... we win 3-2

robski Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 I’m no expert other than a loyal fan for 50 years but I can’t see any light at end of tunnel…. Losing to Wolves was catastrophic and the early goal against Liverpool showed promise but a draw was needed against a piss poor Man City and although there were signs of improvement we lost 2-0 despite their appaling form. RVN has no track record in the Premiership or with teams in a relegation battle and is an unproven novice akin to your Rooney or Lampard failures. i think Cooper would have won this game and probably have managed the 4 pts we got against West Ham and Brighton. So the jury is still out on RVN and whether he is an improvement on Cooper and what signings he may be allowed to improve the squad. A win against Villa would be massive for survival and confidence and keep us in touch and to achieve this we would need to go out gun ho and outscore the goals we concede which is enevitable in the manner of a Keegan manager. A draw would still be a very good result to stop the rot but I still feel we are doomed and results will be hard to come by. It’s just so depressing after winning the league to find us in such dire straits and without any hope or direction from the people in power. Happy New Year 1

Happy New Year What some here fail to comprehend is how vast the talent gap is between the first and second tiers . Three top clubs in the Championship are now dead last in the Premier League. 1
Fazzer 7 Posted 1 January Posted 1 January 3-1 Villa. Still too easy to score against and whichever way you spin it we're not scoring, certainly not frequently enough to win games. Right fullback and goal scorer urgently needed. 3
tinpot_fox Posted 1 January Posted 1 January If we can take our chances we can win this one, and we need to be getting unlikely points if we are to stay in this league. Positivity is the way. Vardy is due a brace if he plays and Choudhury seems able to ping some crosses into the box if he plays down the wing. 2-4 Leicester win and I’m working with a Villa fan on Monday.
