It's a bit weird how few Italian players settle in the Premier League - certainly in recent times. Can only really think of Jorginho, although I'm sure someone is going to list a load of them lol

From speaking to someone who knows his family well, he’s quite homesick. He’s definitely got potential, but yeh, this chap said he’s young and just struggling to adapt

Really disappointing for the lad. Tho I still lay the blame partly at the club for not assisting his welfare..

Soumare had similar issues. But has, eventually, come through it. Sometimes, as rough as it sounds, you might have to insist the player grins and bears it and knuckles down

This was very much a Pearson, Shakespeare, Walsh thing... it was about mentality just as much as skill. They also introduced a players wellbeing therapist If I remember correctly.

If a player was deemed a bad egg/disruptive in the group, they were gone, despite their skill (Marshall was a glaringly obvious one).

*Edit: jyst to add, our recruitment department needs a complete overhaul, bar the occasional gem, it's been largely dreadful... its destroying this club.

We're 19th in the League and about 75th in recruitment, whether finding them, negotiating the length of, or the cost to the club of.......gutting

Kevin Pressman!

I’ve never forgiven Pressman for always having a worldy against us. Including a wet and windy Wednesday night cup game away at their place. We lost 5-0 and he literally flew around that goal area..

I'm surprised were looking to offload him tbh. Even though he's far from the finished article, he still showed some promise and looked like he could become a decent player.

I think the reason he is available is more due to home sickness and not settling rather than anything else. And I tend to agree if he was happy to stay I would arguably make him first choice alongside a new CB signing

This is such a myth.

Feels like it, this came out when he was talked about as being integral to England behind the scenes when he was in their squads.

We need to find a way back to this sort of club mentality. But it needs to come from the Top so it's unlikely to happen. Anyone we half a brain cell should be able to analyse what we've done well and done wrong over the last 10 or so years.

And then when he played for us he was honking! Remember when he let in a goal by the Preston goalie Lonergan? lol

There’s not a chance Parma will pay £15m

Will be typical Italy transfer goes on all window, they bid 3 million on deadline day and he goes nowhere

What an endorsement

Coady, Vesterguard, Faes, Nelson, Souter, Okoli. Who you keep for next season no matter what division we're in. Me, I would play Nelson and Okoli as first  choice with Souter and Coady as back ups. Subject to fitness.

I don't see a number of clubs queueing up to sign Vestergard with the length of contract that he has & the wages he earns. Not to mention that he's pretty crap anyway

Difficult I know. But Faes is on the transfer market. Maybe do the same with Vesterguard.

Vestergaard was our best centre back in the Championship. He must stay if we go down.

I know what you mean. Problem is we need players to step up from the championship. He can't do that. As soon as we go up,:fc:, he needs replacing.

Fun stat - Ballotelli is the only Italian player to win the Premier League.

It’ll be a culture thing.

Fikayo Tomori is the only English player to win Serie A.

Two English players (Beckham and Cunningham) have won La Liga.

Two English players have won the Bundasliga (Keegan and Hargreaves)

Loads have won Ligue 1 in France!
