I'd keep him, however if we could get that sort of money, I'd sale and bring in another CB.

 

He's too limited on the ball for me.

If we could get that kind of money of course we'd sell.  That's more than we got for Mads and I think everyone holds him in higher regard.  But that price is to warn people off.  Nobody is going to offer that.

You're assuming we would reinvest. I'd rather lose JJ, who's clearly finished, than Okoli who has all the physical attributes to be an animal at this level.

If we sold him for 20m, on top nearly 30m we have brought in for Mads, Ndidi and Coady we would 100% invest.

 

Not sure he's good enough in the air either.

he cost us 15m doubt we sell for 20m

 

A year in the champ his value will go up you would think or higher if he has a good season in the Prem

I don't like the Summer transfer window as a relegated club. It starts with you having a squad that should be too good for the league, but it only takes the vultures to come and take 3 or 4 of your best players and then you are scrambling to pick up decent replacements. In addition to Ndidi and Hermanson, if we lost BEK and one of our starting wingers, all of a sudden, the team looks decidedly weaker.

Okoli has the potential to play premier league football at a reasonable standard. Souttar and vestergaard don't.

Looks like Cifuentes fancies him and we need his athleticism.  Personally hope we keep.  As for re-investing I'm not sure I trust us to get it right given our other recent CB signings.

Okoli is a recent CB signing, Coady two years ago the other "recent" CB signing and that wasn't terrible just pretty meh. Before that Souttar, again not terrible just didn't fit with the Maresca game plan.

Yes i said other than Okoli for a reason.  But the jury is still out.  Its just that I would rather give him a chance as he's shown some positive signs.  Giving a sh1t for one. 

 

Souttar has barely played, both Rodgers and Maresca didn't fancy him for whenever reason.  We paid 15m for a guy that's contributed the square root of feck all.  Coady was a dreadful signing, again hardly played and when he did was horribly exposed.  As we've seen very little resale value, I will give Rudkin some kudos for getting £2m for him.  

 

Vesty was also a poor signing at 15m.  Yes he was great for Maresca in the championship. So he should be at that price.  There was much better value for money out there if we scouted properly.  Offering him a new contract was madness.

 

So yeah it's a game of opinions but mine remains we've spaffed a lot of money on rubbish at the back.  Whilst not CBs add VK and Woyo to our recent poor recruitment in defence.

Been told he's back in light training but still likely a few months from full fitness.
