We didn't get any points deduction and we weren't charged, they are the simple facts.

If that is the case and we're sooooo confident in our watertight legal standing, we should have been fine with throwing a bit of money at staying in the league, rather than using PSR as an excuse not to. The basic balance of risk and reward says that staying up even one extra year in the PL, even with a points deduction and guaranteed ticket back to the Championship, would do more for our long term finances than going down while being 'good' but still haemorrhaging money.

 

There's no way those in charge of the club's financial decisions come out of this looking like anything other than incompetent liars. Promising managers reinforcements, only to blame PSR for not funding them. Despite being publicly confident that they can be slippery and avoid consequences and actually quite bullish in doing so.

 

It doesn't add up, and it should be shouted about more by the fanbase. They're taking us - and Ruud, as they did Enzo - for mugs.

Really hope this leads to more protests and change at the club. The quicker King Power leaves and sell up and take Rudkin with them the better.

If you've read that and you think John Rudkin is doing his job at a level you consider to be acceptable then don't cry when people think you're a KPFC cultist.

The irony of someone decrying the egos of the protest whilst putting on the most holier-than-thou tone and making up numbers and storylines based on their agenda is fascinating.

 

Did you ask 100% of the fanbase their opinions? Are you of the opinion there can never be an occasion where the majority can be wrong or that a minority can have valid perspectives even if you disagree?

 

You surely must also have thought then that the Super League protests were stupid and invalid as they surely didn't have a turnout at each fanbase of more than 50%, so therefore surely can't have represented the majority of fans or had their backing right? I have to assume that based on your post.

 

Can you explain in precise detail why exactly it was a childish debacle? I agree that some of the messaging was maybe misguided, but you clearly have multiple different points of contention about it that it would be interesting to hear.

I think it's brave to put an alternative view on this particular thread and I commend you for doing so. This is all about opinions and it's interesting to see alternative views. I think we are all "proper" fans and only want what's best for the club. 

 

I like to think of myself as a fairly pragmatic person and I think that King Power have largely been good for LCFC. Indeed they have presided over the most successful period in our entire history. They deserve some leeway and, I believe, they have been given quite a bit. However .....

 

I think you can appreciate the King Power reign and still question the future and direction of this club. I've said a few times on this thread (and others) that continuous evolution is what sets apart any successful business from its peers. What KP did clearly worked and they received the acclaim and plaudits at that time. Now, however, it clearly is not working! We've had a succession of very poor decisions taken on and off the pitch and engagement with fans hasn't been great. In fact it feels like an all time low since KP took control. 

 

I've always been dubious about whether John Rudkin should be the outlet for the frustration of fans or whether their ire should be directed at another recipient. We shouldn't, however, blame the fans for this. The club hierarchy themselves have put JR forward as their "Director of Football" and, in turn, have not communicated the outcomes of their 'root and branch' review that led to our relegation and the 'off the pitch' hierarchy has all been kept in place. No other candidate has emerged as the person responsible. Meanwhile we've made some very confusing managerial appointments, had a demonstrably poor player recruitment strategy and are still sailing very close to the wind in terms of PSR. It doesn't feel like further team manager changes are going to solve our problems in the short or medium term. It very much feels like a wider 'reset' is required. Something the club has failed to communicate to fans. 

 

I don't particularly like the targeting of Rudkin either, particularly if this becomes personal but, as stated, the people protesting are picking the figure that the owners and club management have put forward. Neither Top, Susan Whelan or JR himself have come out and said that they are responsible for the footballing decisions and the buck stops with them. All we see is fairly bland statements that do nothing to appease. I don't expect a detailed breakdown of things that should remain confidential, but even some sort of statement upon the future plans and direction for the club would help. 

 

The criticism of the recent protests reminds me of the criticism people get for singing certain songs (eg the lyrics are rubbish, it's embarrassing, don't like the tune, makes us look silly etc.). My response to that debate is always that you'll never get songs that appeal to everyone and any noise will only help to generate the atmosphere that you're trying to create. In that instance, as in this one, (as long as it's within the bounds of decency) I'm just grateful that some people are trying to make a difference

One of the best concise points I’ve read about the whole furore is by having no communication, no clear responsibilities outlined is that it’s just allowed rumour and speculation to take over the void.

Structure is something that isn't spoken about enough on here to give the people that still think everything is fine some clarity....

Purely from a Premier League football club point of view, we're missing the following....

Which is an another point - we don't operate like a top level club now operates - we are old fashioned in our structure. Left behind even.

King Power haven't got the backbone to get rid of Rudkin, so they can go too. King Power have been absolute failures for us in the last 4/5 years. They've been the reason for our financial ruin in last 3/4 years and for our relegation 2 years ago and potential relegation this season.
