I can’t imagine a scenario where Reform removes the triple pension lock, likewise raising minimum wages. I only see a scenario where inequality rises.

really?? After the events of the last 3 months?

Why would Reform hurt their core voter base of over 60’s?

I think the Tories still do best with that particular demographic. Much of Reform's resurgence has been built on white, working-class Gen X men in skilled manual jobs, and 'left behind' millennials with few to no qualifications, rather than Boomers.

Not willingly, but I think if they go off on their agenda then the market might be quick to correct them. Certainly quicker than is happening in the US where Trump is being coralled back into line like a bull with a nose ring.

And once, they've been corrected, they'll need to look for savings to try and show they can be trusted and they've heard the message. Similar to how Labour have been forced into a Truss-light way to reform but always with an eye to not scaring the horses( the market). Thus annoying their core base AND trying to keep the red-wall voters onside.

The man is living proof that in this age anything is possible when you lie and accentuate the negative.

Unfortunately.

Quite sad given his promotion of inter-faith culture and liberal approach.

Poignant time of passing.

The evangelicals clearly consider the Sermon on the Mount merely guidelines, rather than instructions on how to be a good person of God.

The tipping point that's coming very soon is that the new state pension (11,973) will exceed the personal allowance (12570). This might happen next year but will definitely happen in 2027.

Something will have to change as there's no point having pension increases if you are going to get taxed on it. Or...maybe it will just be left and that's how the issue of the triple lock will be dealt with. However, that would surely be a political own goal that Farage would seize: "Labour are now taking your hard-earned pensions, giving with one hand and taking with the other"

Already happens if you have a private pension, any increase is negated by tax deductions.

True although that particular culture war has been going on for about 500 years

It's interesting how he lost to the worst President ever.
