I think Rohl probably sees himself in a higher profile role than Sheff United now. Whether that is realistic or not is another thing. I think if he crossed the city divide he'd actually lose credibility. I don't blame him for leaving Wednesday, but the manner in which he did, with such short notice before the season started, was poor. By all accounts the players were not having him when he finally went in for pre-season training. And I think that's something he's already slightly tarred with now.

Dyche is probably out of Sheff United's bracket right now, but someone like him to turn the ship around is probably needed. Selles clearly is just not working out—the owners have tried to change too much, too quickly.

I suspect so yes. I just wondered whether a combination of not having got another offer and potential bitterness towards Wednesday could make the unusual happen (as very few cross the divide). But I suspect he will hold out for a bigger move.

Be interesting to see who goes there. Still potential to have a good season as a few defeats can be turned around, Forest and Blades themselves made the playoffs in the season Forest went up having both had bad starts. As I say, I get what the owners are trying to do but it has been too much too quickly and not worked.

That Sheffield United performance reminded me of our 6-1 at Pompey all those years ago. Absolutely honking.

Sousa was sacked after that wasn't he? Can see the same happening with Selles and Sheffield United.

Sheff Utd has Schteve Cooper written all over it right now. They're in a similar position to where F*rest were and everything.

He can't possibly do much worse, and he wouldn't have the benefit of a summer window to mess up their (decent for the level) squad.

Looking at how they've clearly downed tools for Selles, would be interesting to see how he deals with egos in the squad given he completely capitulated to our lot.

He’s taken the job at Brondby in Denmark recently

Cooper has just joined Brondby, and in doing so, made Denmark infinitely less cool a place

Play off finals have a history of sliding doors moments. Sheffield United were all over Sunderland in the final before Sunderland equalised, now they would do well to finish in the top half with Sunderland have a decent chance at staying up in the premier league this season

Similar vibes with the Huddersfield Forest final a few years back and the stonewall decisions not given to Huddersfield and the trajectory for both clubs going in opposite direction.

I know Ipswich's side has a fair bit of new blood but looks really ordinary to me, I definitely don't think they're a lock to click and get automatics based on that XI. They used up a fair bit of credit last season - they remarkably managed to finish below us.

They’ve certainly overpaid but have much more quality than us, especially in attack. They will overtake us in no time!

The likes of Coventry, Boro, West Brom, Norwich must be eyeing up this season as a great opportunity. Think it could be a fun league for the neutrals this year with no runaway leader.

Cov 0-1 Norwich

Coventry have been all over Norwich and somehow are still behind lol

Norwich wasting as much time from dead balls as they can already

And that’s why Wrexham are going to struggle.  Clean through on goal  and waited until they got 5 players behind the ball before shooting tamely against the defender..

Yeah was going to mention Cooper's Forest.  Was a rescued season for them, and were the second best team in the final, and the next season they moved onwards with their opponents not lucking close to the EPL since.

Those refereeing decisions were shocking, the ref's final game of career as well.  Plus a ref known for dodgy decisions.

Big kieffer gets one back for Wrexham. Typical target man goal from a corner.
