Be a nightmare if they win and get back in the final though .

Boro would then appeal I guess.

Boro cant appeal. They arent in the room and EFL didnt let them in. Its why they put that statement out on Friday. They wanted to be in the room and EFL (or this commission) said they couldn't be.

it can be argued that southamption’s team selection, style and formation were all influenced by the information they garnered. With all that is at stake and the financial prize of promotion, you just can’t ignore that. It’s more than just “ knowing how Boro play”

Don’t bother talking to him genuinely doesn’t understand football.

Whether the breach of the rule affected the result is completely irrelevant. Total non arguement.

As I’ve stated if you bring on cup tied player for 30 seconds when your 5-0 up and he doesn’t touch the ball, you’re gone, hasn’t effected the result in the slightest, but you are gone. Them be the rules.

Absloute win for English football today as above anything else it’ll stop shit like this happening again.

It'll be a laughing stock if the appeals successful, EFL will have 0 threat in future.

Saints admitting to 4 counts is stupid, this is just the 4 they've got evidence from as well. Embarrassing day for Southampton.

My understanding was they hired Nick De Marco who was present at the hearing.

But yes they have no right to appeal but that’s standard in cases like this. The charges are bought by the league against Southampton so it doesn’t directly concern borough in terms of jurisdiction.

Painful for all fans involved.

Hull and Saints fans will have had hotels or travel plans organised, all potentially out the window if rearranged or punishment kept. Boro fans having to make last minute arrangements.

The appeal stands no chance.

I hope so, but, we know what the independent commissions do with EFL charges.

Yes, not sure how the past actions of independent commissions points to any likely hood of this being over turned though.

There’s not a chance these were the only 3 games they spied on.

Coincidence it’s 3 games where they didn’t win, pushes the narrative for them that they didn’t receive a sporting advantage.

theyve certainly tried to do more youd think, as you said, it quiet the coincidence they "accept" its for the 3 games then didnt win....can be sure as hell theyve done it more than just 3 times this season if they actually looked further into bank statements etc

Surely it opens a right legal can of worms. Wrexham who finished 7th probably have a case if it's something they've done throughout the season.

Begs the question... if Soton went to such lengths to send someone to their opponents training ground for spying, have they bugged dressing rooms to listen in on opponent team talks? The whole situation is a shambles, and surely goes beyond just the playoffs.

More we've seen punishments reduced on every time a league has brought deductions to a club.

Interesting to see what heads roll at Southampton? If the manager was aware surely he has to go.

His body language says to me that he's very aware of their guilt and that he's culpable. Rumours are that he's going to get a year long ban 🤣🤣🤣
