It’s a competition and if you’re caught cheating you should expect to be kicked out. If you were in a quiz team for example, and one of your team tells you he saw some of the answers on someone’s desk and is overheard and reported, you’d expect to be disqualified, even though the rest of the team would be appalled, they have to bear the consequences. I feel for the fans and the players, but I wonder if there were only the 3 teams mentioned, involved. As it happens , they lost at Oxford and drew with Ipswich.

What is this nonsense? Why does the kickoff time depend on who is in the final?

Saturday's Sky Bet Championship final between Hull and Middlesbrough is now set to kick off at 3.30pm at Wembley, subject to Southampton's appeal.

The game, which is live on Sky Sports, was initially set to kick off at 4.30pm between Hull and Southampton

However, should the outcome of Southampton's appeal result in the Saints being reinstated, the kick-off time will remain at 4.30pm.

I swear Sky are just desperate to **** fans over.

First thought was trains back to Boro but even with extra time and penalties there should be plenty of time for the last train back?

Bit unfair on Hull fans who already planned around a 4.30pm kick off

only 3 they mentioned themselves to try and get some grace i suspect

certainly wouldnt shock anyone if they did it more than the 3 mentioned

you feel for the fans but imo its a deserved punishment

Mebee it wasn't his dog being walked around Seagrave. Was it a really, really well disguised spy??!

Cocking his leg and peeing on the corner flag post was over egging the roleplay a bit though

Only a guess, it's probably because Middlesborough is further away from Wembley. Just means coaches and cars get back a bit earlier.

I think its totally deserved, its cheating, pure and simple and they should be kicked out the playoffs and have a points deduction, which is whats happened so good!

The appeal Southampton are doing wont work, just accept the punishment.  its 3 counts of spying right ? probably a lot more too

I know its not fair on the players or the fans but its tough do do, the manager and hierarchy should walk on the ir own accord, cheating b@stards

Wouldn't surprise me if Wrexham are kick off and say the play offs should be replayed etc... With them in it.

Though probably just the kind of thing we would do to be fair.

Why would it randomly just be 3 teams, he thought it was normal “like his time managing abroad” he started off winless in 7 and it was prominent enough that staff were joking about it and the analysts were made to blend in wearing local kits

When will the whole write up be made public that shows all the evidence and stuff? After this appeal today or we talking weeks?

youd hope it would be later tonight but more likely in the coming weeks potentially

I still dont get how some think the punishment is a bit over the top..like these two

i honestly do wonder about them....like would either of them be saying it if say us or Newcastle had the same thing happen? of course not

I would imagine there is evidence or suggestion of more than three, but that it's easy for Southampton to accept those three in particular and claim they gained little to no sporting advantage.

Pretty much everything they say is to generate controversy and conversation. There was a piece, I cant remember where discussing their stances of refereeing decisions a few seasons back on MotD. There were quotes of them both, particularly Lineker chopping and changing their stances on calls over the course of the season to suit the narrative for the clips then posted on socials.
