Saints cheating ****s. They should award us the points.

Maybe they bugged our dressing room in that 4-3 win at the King Power? They paid Jannik Vestergaard a handsome fee to do it 😂😂😂

As i said earlier... the game has been destroyed.

It used to be that the end of season "table doesnt lie"

Now we have teams being relegated and teams possibly promoted on legal rulings. Its all related to the removal of responsibility from referees, introduction of VAR and the selling out of football.

How true, l detest professional football and have done for a long time. I no longer watch it or on TV. I have no interest whatsoever in the world cup, don't know the opponents in England's group and couldn't name 5 players in England squad. Non league football is where l get my fix now. COME ON HARBOROUGH TOWN!!!

As amusing as it all is, Middlesbrough are snitched and don’t deserve to be there themselves. So I guess we have to support Hull….but Hull are crap and couldn’t beat us over the season.

Meh, at least L1 has a good final between local rivals and I guess we want Notts to win the L2 play off so we can replace rivalries against Forest, Derby and Cov with Burton, Mansfield and Notts Co!

Makes was you think was this pressure from other efl clubs in terms of this decision not just middlesbrough. Could be more than 3 they spied on. Wrexham may threaten legal action as they could say if this points deduction was inaffect sooner they may have made the play offs.

It was 2 - 1 to Hull at their place

Every argument I've seen for Southampton has been linked to what benefit they'd have gotten from cheating. Wasn't taken into account for us with how badly we ****ed breaking financial rules.

For it to have happened numerous times I also don't believe the DOF didn't know what was happening. Caught bang to rights and the punishment should stand.

We’ll see what this new Independent panel decide but would be rather farcical if they overturned the decision.

I don't think they would have allowed the tickets to go on sale to Middleborough fans if they had any though that they would allow Southampton to play in the final again

I'm fascinated to know what people who are advocating for Soton on here would've wanted if we were Boro, and one of our training sessions had been spied on in advance of a playoff semi.

Genuinely interested as to whether people would think them being thrown out of playoffs was "overly harsh" or unjust?

You know what, I had that game where we blew the 2 goal lead away in December in my head as Hull but that was Bristol City of course! Yes fair enough, they did beat us

We had too many games on tv, so everyone else had an unfair advantage over us... that's why we conceded so many late goals and from set pieces

SUE SKY TV 😝😝

In the context of Celtic keeping their title after stopping a match being completed and refereeing decisions that were objectively wrong, and Man City keeping titles after buying world class players with money they shouldn’t have been allowed to spend - this is an absolutely crazy decision.

Sorry but you can’t defend the rules in a connected football pyramid when there is such a failure to impose consistent and proportionate punishments.

Which refereeing decisions were 'objectively wrong' in that case?

There is a criminal legal defence that if you genuinely didnt know you were committing a crime as you didnt know there was a law against it, that is a valid defence. Talking petty shit though, not the big ones.

This however is bollocks on his behalf. English rules and German rules would be the same. If anything, the German rules would be stricter. He then came to Barnsley and would have known the rules then, then went Italy where there would be rules like this and then back here. Only difference is this time he was the manager and not the assistant.

Hes either a liar or an imbecile. If Canada get in the shit for spying, you can be damn well assured all other countries where football is a more popular sport than it is in Canada have strict rules.

As they should. Playing under the pretence of working towards bonuses, contract extensions etc and have it took away because of stuff out their control is not right. How deep does it go though? Did they know the info Southampton were getting and telling their players came from spying or not?

There is also the counter one in this country of ignorance of the law is no excuse ....So, on that basis the manager and Southampton don't have a case to answer.

Although it was a known option nobody really expected for Southampton to be removed hence the tickets being put on sale for their supporters

They won’t have spied on us will they, we probably have laser beams guard dogs and UAV built into that ridiculously over priced training ground.

Hardly worth getting past that to watch Harry Winks practice passing backwards and Patson Daka breaking windows in the canteen whilst attempting shooting practice for two hours is it.

Expect to see Eckert get a ban as well then

Eckert could now face charges, too. The FA was not commenting on possible action last night but there is precedent in football. At the 2024 Olympic Games, Canada used a drone to spy on New Zealand, their upcoming opponents in the women’s football. In that case, Canada lost six points, while their coach, Bev Priestman, along with analyst Joseph Lombardi and assistant coach Jasmine Mander, were handed a one-year ban from football by FIFA.

When they spied on Ipswich (who were using Eastleighs training ground) the person they sent wore a Eastleigh top as a disguise 😂😂😂😂
