Allen and Manadric working on a different wave, Allen said they signed around 13 new players over one summer, only four were like his recommendations. The other ones were like Manadric signings, every training session a new player would turn up. Eventually Allen just said enough and was turning new players away at the gate almost lol.

Charlie Austin - I think we even made a bid in summer 2015 very soon after we sacked Pearson. 
 

Dean Windass was heavily linked and such a O’Neil player - wonder why we didn’t get him. 

Deeney a few times.

 

Ben Thatcher who did end up playing for us but again heavily linked the summer after we went up under O’Neil. Chose Wimbledon instead.
 

Bowen and Cresswell had a few links. I think Cresswell was chased by Pearson the summer we went up but chose West Ham. 
 

Gabriel Barbosa and Mitrovic were two rumoured to come once. Mitrovic around the time we signed Kamaric
