His absence merely echo’s the emptiness of his words. It’s clear he is clinging onto the club for sentimental values. It may sound out of order, and I’m not for one second demising the impact of Kun Vichai’s tragic death….. but from that moment. Top probably should have considered selling the club and just stepping away for his own wellbeing. There’s just an obvious lack of ****s, butter can’t afford to be the punchline anymore.

They were never his words.

He’d been here for weeks (For the inquest)  prior to the Everton game after which he flew back. .  He doesn’t live here. he now has a young family and just flitting back to the U.K. isnt perhaps top of his ‘to do list’.

last time we were in a relegation fight, he and the family attended lots of games in the run in.

you can slag him off for lots of things but not being there today isn’t one of them imo

Albans. You're one I myself normally agree with on here. This is wrong chap.

On the Ski Slopes weren't he? Going downhill just like us- mentioned in another thread.

The Chairman is a coward, couldn't face the fans yesterday, sent his minions instead, a menopausal woman among them.

What a sad state of affairs...I thought it couldn't get lower, but it will.

He’s not someone who takes responsibility. An owner doesn’t have to be at every game. The thing is, he wants to be at the forefront of success despite adding absolutely nothing - Top has contributed zero to anything we have achieve but he will be there, front and centre.

Any business owner with any worth would’ve been present yesterday when their set up was being challenged by large parts of their customer/fanbase. He wasn’t present in any form. Not even a genuine release of words etc. Releasing a poxy  set of notes he didn’t write or read, shows the immaturity of the kid.

I struggle to see how anyone has loyalty to him over the club.

The two are inextricably connected, it’s not a choice of one or the other though is it?
It’s a business* to Top of which we, as a part of that business are but a very small part. A businessman didn’t attend a ‘meeting, it’s hardly shocking and his not being there is unsurprising certainly against his history of attendance.

* it is this that boils plenty people’s p!ss I think

It’s is perfectly justifiable to criticise the businessman for not attending meetings based on importance - this one is more important given the background compared to others - that’s my point.

Understand the point, and it was a critical point for the fan base to rightfully communicate its discontent. My point was that as a business man he could well have been doing things more important to KP. Not an excuse, just a fairly obvious likelihood.
If we had a DoF who was nearer the fans, who has an on point media team supporting them, we should not need to be even discussing Top.

Yes, don’t disagree with you. Unfortunately we don’t.

It’s a business which stressed though isn’t it? So a good businessman woukd put his time and effort into sorting said business out.

The main King Power brand is in a very secure position.

In an overall look; Top’s social media I’d imagine probably annoys a lot of his fellow families. Its trips abroad galore and gallivanting. This week he appears to be skiing Japan

I think it was more about the statement he released becuase of the planned protests, saying you can protest all you want but during the game get behind the team. He should have led by example by attending the game to show that leadership.

Doesn’t that tell us how important this part or his business is to KP though? We may not like to hear it, that to us such a critical institution is not important to its owner,  but this is the reality isn’t it? It’s sh!t, but this is disinterested owners look like I guess.

This is why it is so important  an engaged DoF runs the shows, but we have a stable boy.

If it's purely "a business", things are worse than we think because he ain't a businessman.

Yep, spot on, Top doesn't need to be hands on, just needs to have people in place that can run things, but unfortunately at the moment we don't have that.

One of two things need to happen now, he needs to sell it on or put people in place that will give us half a chance of being a decent Premier league football club.

Let me guess, king power happy clapper ?

This is why the protest failed. Resorting to cheap insults does not induce support. It puts people off.

The thing that grates me is he keeps mentioning staying in the premier league how the f**k does he think we will achieve that? With this team of players? Does he have an overinflated view of them? RVN is not a premier league standard manager he was a gamble which is not paying off no doubt another internal review post our relegation to the championship will yield wonderful fruits lol

that seems a reasonable point but he probably attends half the games per season - I’m guessing that’s higher than the vast majority of PL club owners. He’d not planned to be here yesterday. Evidently he’s on holiday in Japan.  He’s just not changing his plans because there’s a protest.

he’s the owner. Whilst he cares for the club more than most owners he has other things in his life now.  More important ones now he has a young family.  I guess he doesn’t have the same irrational love for the club that we do.  And I’m probably not being fair with that.

turn the clock back to when you had new babies around - would you able to just take days off to travel distance to watch the team ?   How would that go down with your missus?  If he was skiing in the alps or the states then I’d have some truck with your point. But apparently he’s in Japan - a few hours from home.  (And therefore he may have his family with him - I don’t know - it could just be a weekend away with his mates he hasn’t seen for a while ).

as I said - slag him off for being crap in lots of things he’s doing re the club because, for now, that seems fair. But I can’t get behind the reason him not being there yesterday as being one of them.
