Because Vardy has shown all the attributes to be a great manager.

No we’re not left with dross. You’re just punting around the big names.

We should go lower and try a manager who has been successful in the football league.

For me, Wellens has done enough now for him to get a crack in the Championship. Successful at Swindon and now Leyton Orient (ignoring the mess of Oldham and Salford). I don’t think he would stand for certain players and always seemed knowledgeable about football.

We’ve got the get away from the big names, although I don’t think this ownership will.

I don’t disagree pal, but we aren’t looking at the likes of Manning, Rohl and Tom Cleverley although these could be the best bet for us in the long term.

Right now it doesn't matter who we get as nothing will change whilst the current set of players are in situ. I didn't think this until a few games ago but it is clear to me they have mostly given up are not playing for the manager or the club with real heart whoever is in charge.

I don't have any names but whoever comes in next needs to realise that what they will be in is a long term project, not just a rapid promotion with the same group of players who won't be good enough next time either.

The manager needs to be involved in all aspects of the football. We need a complete overhaul of the playing side from youth to first team. Moving forwards it is obvious we need to develop our own talent quicker and more frequently than we currently do. Young players need a clear pathway either to the first team or out on loan. Something we seem to fail to do consistently.

We need a manager who instills a sense of identity into the way we play. neither Cooper and certainly not RVN have or had that.

But all this is irrelevant whilst we have a useless DOF and a recruitment team that doesn't seem to be able to come up with the right players.

Unfortunately this all needs a key ingredient missing in modern football, patience.

I want us to be a club where young hungry players come because they know they can develop their game and a mix of seasoned pros who actually want to be here rather than those clearly just taking a last pay day.

We're so far away from any of this right now that i think it will take at least 5 seasons to start to turn things round in a positive way.

The owner needs to grasp this or sell.

That list is probably a bit outdated now in that we will be looking at Championshio candidates.

Personally I like Rohl but unlikely as is mentioned, we would pay compensation. He may also not want to come near us.

I also like Wellens and the job he is doing and think he could step up to the Championship. But again, compensation.

Its going to be Russell Martin.

No change then as Cooper and RVN had no business managing in the PL

We should have gone for Danny Rohl after Cooper.

He's done brilliantly at Sheffield Wednesday who have virtually no money and absolutely useless owners. Bit like us.

Can't see them Sacking Ruud. They don't have the funds for it even though he's barely brought in his own coaching staff.

If they do sack Ruud it'll be internal appointment.

Struggling to believe any manager would want this job at the minute... the squad lack any premiership qualities or ability.. team moral in the gutter ... players wishing the season over so they can move on ... a owner ... Rudkin and others who seem to have nothing to offer

But at the same time, this club has all the facilities needed to succeed. All it takes is a strong manager to implement his style throughout and we'll be back

Situationally Dyche is likely the best available option if we seriously want to try and stay up.

However the addition of Andy King to the coaching team is curious, almost like we have some kind of transition plan, but that clearly cannot be the case.

Dyche isn’t an idiot. I don’t see a situation where he takes a short term deal till the end of the season. He will want his 2 or 3 year contract and knows if he waits long enough one of those will turn up.

The pool of managers who will take a 10 game deal (assuming we pull the trigger it would take 2-3 games for us to get something sorted) is really small.

The big problem here is that why didn't Ruud get any decent support staff. Coaches and a number 2?

I remember even Jaap stam (?) saying he would help if asked.

It is total mismanagement from the board.

The facilities yes ... the structure definitely not ... the funds not .... a plan or strategies... they don't seem to have a clue .. any manager needs control over many things and not  be hoodwinked

It will be either Gary O’Neil or Russell Martin, if Ruud goes.

Don’t bother getting your hopes up for anyone else with this short signed board.

For what it’s worth, I still think they will give Ruud the summer to build his own team as they know he’s been dealt the worst hand ever in terms of a squad physically and mentality equipped to stay up. Plus, the Thai loyalty factor and more likely negative press from Ruud’s mates (Neville et al) about the regime means they will feel obliged to give him a chance to create his own team.

No way can they stick with Ruud if this run continues.

I think Rohl’s stock is higher than us. I do think we do have some pull from the outside looking in and I know Wednesday are a mess, but I just don’t see why he’d jump from one basket case to another.

Dyche might have kept us up with 4 or 5 signings, but even then I think his style would have been hated by most of the squad and most of the fans. He’d be in a hiding to nothing.

If we are going down, which we are, we do not need Sean Dyche. We need to rebuild, not paper over cracks.

Agreed, I was not suggesting that Dyche would accept a season long deal, because as you say, he isn’t a moron so he would be here for a while.

Personally would prefer a more long term strategy even if it meant we went down, anyway I cannot see our hubris heavy board and owners wanting to ‘lower’ themselves to Dyche.

Rohl / Vardy exchange deal? Wednesday is probably the only club Vardy9 would consider for a 10 game contract. We'd have to pay his wages obviously.

Richie Wellens, doing an unreal job at Leyton Orient, let him come in spend the remainder of the season preparing for next season, integrating the best academy prospects into the first team matchday squad and also making it clear to the hangers on to start looking for new clubs.

A bit of Northern grit, reckon he will be the closest to a modern day Pearson .

Bin off Rudkin and Glover and bring in a new Dof and Steve Walsh Snr as Head of Recruitment and with a remit to revamp our whole scouting and recruitment department

Put that opium pipe down friend.

It's nice to dream but you'll only wake up to the terrifying reality LCFC has become.

Wonder if Liam Rosenior would fancy it. Doing well at Strasbourg, 7th in ligue 1. Did well with Hull last season as well.

That's not happening, we don't have the ambition or pull to get those type of managers, we are stuck with out of work managerial options.
