We've blamed the board. Rightly so.

We've blamed the managers. Rightly so.

When do we blame the players?

Their lack of accountability, their lack of fight, effort, determination. They may not have the quality, but you can bridge the gap with your attitude. Do enough of our players have the right attitude? Do they care?

Well, I think they either based Tenet on Soumare or he saw the movie and it had a reaction, affecting his flow of time in the opposite direction, :tumbleweed:so  blaming him for being soooooo shite is a bit of a conundrum

They’ve already been blamed.

This isn’t just one persons fault, it the collective…. From Top to the players, everyone’s to blame…. Top is a clueless bellend, as are Rudkin and Whelan, and the players are mostly useless twats most of which can’t be ****ing bothered….. so yea.

There are plenty of threads on here calling out individual players and numerous others calling out the ability and attitude of the squad in general!

They’ve been blamed for years. The season we went down could’ve been different if those lads had put a shift in.

This season there are some players who truly are trying, but they’re simply not good enough. VK springs to mind. Others are just arrogant and don’t really give a crap. I’d give the academy lads a run out and humiliate some of these overpaid crybabies.

I don't read all the individual threads so maybe I've missed it all. Just personally seems they've been let off the hook collectively.

Maybe we need to get a sports psychologist back at the club.

Hard to blame a player for just not being good enough. And if they really are lacking effort then it's down to whoever trusts and selects them.

Same for managers? Their employers are the ones at fault.

And then there was one (or maybe two)

Watching the first 5 minutes of Everton v Man Utd, seeing the effort and determination of the Everton players makes me so jealous. If we had that we could stay up.

The basic problem which unfortunately can’t be changed, we have a squad of championship players and discards from premier league clubs. As demonstrated last night they do not have the technical ability and awareness of the opponents transitions to compete

It's not their technical ability that concerns me the most. It's their heart and fight that does.

The players arent good enough, we know that. Its who is identifying these players and buying them that is the main problem. Whats happened to us buying quality young, hungry players from the Championship we can develop like Maddison instead of Spurs reserve players? We had the chance to sign Olise, Eze, Robinson etc, and we decided to sign more expensive options from elsewhere that were worse

Add to that no leadership amongst the playing group. Too many sulky tarts!

Roundly booed and deemed not good enough by fans.

A squad not fit for purpose in the premier league which isn’t their fault.

We do also blame the players! Pretty much every player has had a thread significantly criticising their performance and many their attitude on top. Rightly so in the majority of situations. Only probably Elk and Mads are the only ones that haven’t received much of the blame yet.

We are in this situation due to mismanagement at all levels, from the very Top, directors, senior management, management and the players. They all take levels of the blame.

At the end of the day these players, RVN and even Rudkin are actively being employed by Aiyawatt. He employs these people who consistently show that they are out of their depth and don't have a clue. Aiyawatt is keeping these problems at the club because he won't get rid of this fraud of a DOF. Rudkin quite literally ties our own hands behind our backs with PSR and then we are left with some of the same players who went down last time.

I had the same feeling towards the end of BR's tenure, he was being kept in his job due to the incompetency of those above him. It's the same now, the incompetency of those above the players is the reason we're in the mess. Spending 20-25 mil on Oliver Skipp and then they moan about PSR constraints not allowing us to strengthen our squad so that we have semi-decent players to even compete with the likes of Brentford. Aiyawatt still decides to employ the people who commit these inexcusable ****-ups which leave us mudded on the pitch. Like Ruud implied after the game, the ability of these players is simply not good enough or cohesive enough to stay in games and ultimately stay in the league. There's only so much they (the players) can do and we simply weren't able to bring in enough quality in the window because of previous ****-ups. So these losses are pretty much inevitable because other teams simply have so much more quality than us.

Sorry for waffling but it all stems to this fraud of a chairman who employs another fraud in Rudkin, who it would appear directly tries to sabotage our season before it's even began by wasting money on dead players. Then they moan about being restricted by PSR. Absolute clowns. We all know the players aren't good enough. They are kept at the club tho/brought into the club by Rudkin, which it seems Aiyawatt is happy with because Mr Rudkin doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon.

All the time ...wish we could sack them and get in new ones to be honest but it doesn't work like that sadly.....if I was able to get rid of some tomorrow they would be:

Faes

Okoli

Vestergaard

Coady

Kristiansen

Thomas

Justin

Ndidi

Soumare

Winks

Skipp

Reid

Ayew

Daka

Édouard

Long before we start blaming it all on Ruud, that's clear to anyone with a brain.

Bloke is stubborn but these are the same group largely that got us relegated last time.

No accountability. No remorse. No pride....because they'll still get their paycheque.

You see people talking about fighting for survival and bringing someone in who can galvanize the players and get the most out of them but is it really worth it?

The squad is littered with players who are simply not good enough. Survival ensures a number of them stay around, and those in charge take some credit for us surviving against all odds. Rinse and repeat we go through the same recruitment processes, the same old dross, Faes gets another 3 years, people who should be held accountable keep their jobs and the ground continues to rinse every penny out of a passive fan base.

While we won't be able to shift a lot of the deadwood, certain players still have the ability to provide an option in the Championship. Young players actually get the opportunity and platform to come in and impress and we the fans should have a wider support to put pressure on the ownership to be held accountable and act on this mismanagement.

A very long winded way of saying the players are responsible, but the club overall has led us down this path for long enough. Survival meets their objectives and we'll ensure some form of reward, relegation while it may have long reaching impacts on us provides more of a chance of a reset, I fear more for our future under the current regime.

Really Annoys me when you See our Goat looked beaten and upset following another loss yet again he’s the only one to come out and thank the fans after such a dismal depressing performance, is it time to rest up this goat before he burns out?

Not really sure how you've got to this thought. In the ground they're booed, jeered, sarcastically cheered. On twitter/here, they're slated.

The bare minnimum that players should be doing is putting in the effort every game. There should be leaders on the pitch and in the club that can say when things are not working or when something needs to be done. The players should generally know their roles and be able to adapt to ongoing situations. The fact is most of the players are not good enough for the level we want to be at. Players are human beings they get frustrated, angry, fallout, bored etc but they need to leave everything behind when they are on the pitch and do the job they are paid handsomely to do.
