I hate Derby but I love the animosity when we play them and, in a sick way,  I hope they stay up as realistically if they do then there is a massive chance we will play them next season which is possibly the only game the kp will sell out for...only an opinion

They were the number one team I wanted us to beat when I started going in the 90s and early 2000s. We were pretty close in league position and derby matches were usually really well contested and exciting. That started to fade after we were both relegated and now I think about them much less than Cov and Forest. To be honest not being from Leicestershire the only Midlands team I really hate now is Forest.

Very nonplussed about Derby.

Forest are an infinitely more unlikeable club in every sense of the word, while Derby are just there. Even Coventry are vaguely irritating.

I can't stand them either. Forest's cuck (about the tenth time I've used that word today)

Mainly as they have the audacity to think they are the same sort of club as us. Literally go anywhere in the world; USA, China, Africa even London, Belfast ....nobody has ever heard of them.

They've been reduced to a Preston Huddersfield type club of a bygone era

Dgaf how many 25k crowds they have. Outside of Derby they are totally unknown.

If Cov were L1 and Derby were in our league last season, it’d be roles reversed

Cov were so irrelevant for a period of time

Everyone remembers that OG at derby away

(weales foot)

Yakubus volley

4-1 at our place the season we won the league- might’ve been 4-0

All I remember Cov for is Peltier, and Kings dink over the keeper

It’s the fact how cov certainly have more hatred for us then derby, yea derby  is a East Midlands rival, but I notice certainty more hatred coming to and from Coventry then derby

Tbf Cov have fought their way back into our consciousness. I felt sorry for them things had got so bad.

My rivalry hatred index goes around 92% Red filth, 4% Cov, 3% other west mids teams combined, 1% derby

There’s obviously a lot more history with derby than cov in terms of big games and good results for us but as a rivalry it’s pretty average. Cov absolutely hate us

They are absolutely hopeless and almost certain to go down, can't score goals and clearly not good enough.

Sounds just like us

As much as Forest would disagree, the most hated team in the East Midlands tends to be the most successful team at that moment in time.

Derby were the best of the 3 in patches in the 90s and 2000s.

My main rivals growing up, going to school in Ashby. They’ve become somewhat irrelevant though over the last few years. Was the last time we played them in the FA Cup on a Friday night in Feb ‘17?

I share that experience. Coming from that part of Leicestershire, I'll always see Derby as the main rival and still love to see them fail. The harder the better.

3-1 in the Cup 4th Round replay 2017 was the last competitive match, and apparently also beat them 3-1 in a friendly in July 2022. Last time they won was 12 years ago n the Championship.

Someone has done a bit of Wiki editing and stealthily called them County Derby on there. I'm not responsible but wholeheartedly approve

Derby aren't bothered by us, it's Forest for them. Coventry unless they sadly get promoted will be the big derby I think. Maybe perhaps Birmingham in some ways next season as I think they will be strong next season in the championship.

I sort of get Forest playing the whole "don't care" thing a bit because our fans on average do dislike them more than they do us but I don't think Derby really have that on us to be honest, I don't think our fans are more arsed about them than they are us.

Definitely the least of the three I'm bothered about but again it's situational, put us in competition with them for a few years and it would change. Maybe that in itself tells you it's not all that fierce though.

I feel like with our rivalries they never quite get going. I think Leicester v Forest could've grown but we've chosen to just implode instead.

I do really like the fact neither Coventry or Derby have ever won at this ground. That definitely adds something to the game.

I don’t know, I think it’s where you grow up, who you know but I’ve never seen Derby as a massive game for us.

A number of reasons. 1. I’ve never known a a lot of Derby fans. I know plenty of Forest fans and a few Cov fans so far more banter. 2. We’ve always been above them or got the better of them in my time supporting Leicester. Even when they took Kitson and had their very good team in the early 90s. We beat them in the playoffs. 3. Forest always had this air of superiority about them and when I got into football they were a far bigger club and better team than us. I think that genuinely creates animosity. 4. Cov is recent though. Completely forgot about them until last year but those two games, the atmosphere, the build up. Proper Derby football.

You expect at least 4 goals when you play Derby and for some time, that seemed to be the given.

If you offered me 4 games v Cov and Forest over Derby, I’d happily take it. Just a shame we haven’t been able to have Forest Derby games in this league when we were both very good. Would’ve been good for the fans and the league.

Growing up and going to school as close to Derby whilst being in Leicestershire as you can get (Castle Donington), I knew loads of Derby fans and a lot of my teammates in junior football supported them.

To be fair, they are quite a likeable club for me. Not at all offensive, their fans are loyal to them but not arrogant like Forest. They aren’t toxic and bitter like Cov fans.

I always want us to be top of the lot as we had been for a long time until recently, but as long as that is the case, I wish Derby well.
