Which is the second reason Burnley have signed him. as of yesterday we didn't have anyone who could (a) score goals, or (b) give 200% - and expect his teammates to do the same. Burnley picking up lots of flak here I see. I live 15 mins away and Burnley and its surroundings are some of the most breathtakingly beautiful in the country. Sure some areas are rundown and the town as a whole is fairly deprived (not as if such areas don’t exist in Leicester) - but you’ll find some of the nicest people going.

Stayed in Haworth a couple of years ago and we were considering hiking to Burnley but were thankfully too hungover to try after a night in the town's excellent pubs. Beautiful area though as you say. The guy running our B&B was a Leeds fan, typical chip on his shoulder Yorkshireman but friendly enough. I pointed out that Burnley was closer than Leeds but that "probably most people here support Leeds" and he turned to me and said in his most dour Yorkshire way, "nowt 'probably' about it".

Ehhh I'm a bit disappointed he's back  here, but with that said Burnley is inoffensive and he clearly wants to keep playing as long as he can so fair enough.

 

Ultimately I think he left at the right time. He's had (and is still getting) enough flack for our relegations despite the endless shitshow that is the club, coming back here would've been daft.

Skimming through a burnley forum and they are generally happy with the signing.

 

A few doubters and a lot of crossed fingers but they agree he is better than what they currently have.

He was suspended last night under Italian bookings rules.

As a player obviously everyone here would take him back in a heartbeat.

 

Due to what he represents for the club it is probably best that he's no longer here so he wouldn't be associated with our lowest point in history.
