It's not really about who was the best or worst.  In general, most of them have been absolute shockers. 

 

I'm reasonably happy if we have a 50/50 success rate with signings but for the best part of a decade now I'd say 80% of our signings have been poor or terrible.

 

That is a dreadful record.

Faes or Soumare for me because of their complicity in our demise and the period they epitomise.. I can't really bring myself to hate any footballer but the former is the closest I've ever come to it..

 

Adrien Silva always got off very lightly because of the 14 seconds fiasco too when he was actually just very bad. Musa we managed to move on and Slimani was crap and the priciest error but at least gave us a few decent albeit fleeting moments.

Played just 21 games for us and was shite

 

Spent a couple of season out on loan at Moanco

 

Contract was terminated by mutual agreement when he still had 1 year left

Danny Ward is unquestionably the most damaging. In that he was expected to be a replacement for one of our greatest ever players and was League Two level and that and Rodgers’ blind spot to him and insistence on playing him was catastrophically bad for the club. If we had even a mediocre PL keeper then we easily stay up 2 seasons ago. 
 

Daka similar story. Was meant to be the marquee long term replacement for Vardy but looked out of his depth in the Championship.

3 years of 32 year old Bobby De Cordova Reid, even though he was a free transfer, is a crime against humanity. He is however just pipped to the worst transfer since 2016 by Danny Ward. His presence in the side 2 years ago was ultimately why we were relegated. His selection v Newcastle and Wolves started the terminal rot this season too.

Such an important position, and he’s absolutely appalling in almost every way.

 

Plus it was a decent transfer fee and wages needed to bring him here.
