It's not really about who was the best or worst.  In general, most of them have been absolute shockers. 

 

I'm reasonably happy if we have a 50/50 success rate with signings but for the best part of a decade now I'd say 80% of our signings have been poor or terrible.

 

That is a dreadful record.

3 years of 32 year old Bobby De Cordova Reid, even though he was a free transfer, is a crime against humanity. He is however just pipped to the worst transfer since 2016 by Danny Ward. His presence in the side 2 years ago was ultimately why we were relegated. His selection v Newcastle and Wolves started the terminal rot this season too.

Lots to choose from, but it’s Soumare for me.

 

Such an important position, and he’s absolutely appalling in almost every way.

 

Plus it was a decent transfer fee and wages needed to bring him here.
