With or without points deduction there’s no guarantee we’ll be in the promotion fight.

Our winger and 8 options are exciting and are probably the best in the division.

Our GK the same.

Our 4 fullbacks assuming Kristianson leaves are excellent.

Winks is proven to be excellent at this level.

Our CB options are reasonable when you look at nelson, okoli and souttar. Vesty was excellent last time around.

The playing squad has more than enough quality to walk the league, but it does need a proper manager.

We have a transfer window.

Daka isn't as bad as is made out on here. I actually like him and think he is capable at this level. I didn't mention it in my post as it would nullify everything else I said.

Which may also see us weakened.

Impossible to say how we will do without knowing what shape we are in after that window.

Lose El Khannouss and Hermansen we probably have a weaker squad then we KO at the start of the last Championship campaign.

Spot on. The right manager and we have enough to be in the mix for promotion

Thinks Winks and Vesterguard will be moved out.

If it was his first season in The Championship I’d be happy if he was given the chance. Some of his performances last time in this division though were woeful. Plymouth away still makes me cringe when he didn’t even look like a footballer at any professional level.

He’s a player who I’ve probably had the most patience with over a long period of time, thinking and hoping he could eventually come good, but that’s long gone now.

He’s gone backwards for a few seasons, under different managers, and I just think it best if he made a new start elsewhere.

The bookies have us finishing 7th because they have looked at the absolute state the squad is in.

What exactly is the state of our squad may I ask? We've lost Vardy, Ndidi, Ward and Iversen. 50%, of them are an irrelevance to us. They'll be replaced internally or via transfers.

I didn't say we'd win the league but somehow people have amnesia because the championship is honking quality and we'll finish top 6 with any sort of application!

Which 4 fullbacks are these?

An injured Ricardo

A very poor Justin

Thomas

Who else?

I tend into agree with your post in general as I think the Championship is very poor but feel you may have gone a step to far in your assessment of our fullbacks.

Whats odd is Kieran Maguire is very good pals with Nick Di Marco and Kieran seems to be the only one saying its unlikely the PL can pass down a points deduction to the EFL.

Maguire has the best handle on the situation. Di Marco is still advising the club, so you’d like to think he wouldn’t be advising them to comply if he wasn’t confident the punishment will be minor if at all……

Coulibaly.

Justin is capable with limited ability going forward, though the run and pass to vardy was a corker.

Half of them don't want to be here, we have one goalkeeper, no striker (cannot count Daka) , and basically no manager.

That's before I start on the backroom.

We have 3 or 4 players (not including the youth) worth keeping / good enough.

I'm with you on this.

When any of our sellable assets are gone, by August our squad will be even weaker than it is now.

Couple that with the shambolic way the club is being run, I see us as mid table at best, even without any points deduction.

So one corker of a run and pass has changed him from shite, to not just alright, but excellent?

Almost all of them are objectively "good enough" for the championship as have proven already only a year ago. You mentioned the manager but originally stated 'squad' so I didn't think you were referring to that in your intial post, but either way, most managers would still get us top 6 as well so moot point in my eyes.

The fullback options are excellent at championship level. 3 of the 4 have performed at PL level, if we assume that Thomas carries on where he left off.

Coulibaly is an unknown and we can throw Choudhury and Aluko into the mix. That's more than enough talent for this level.

So, I posted this on here the other week. It isn't as bad as some people are making out. It's more than good enough for a minimum play-off finish, if not automatics.

Stolarczyk

Justin Nelson Okoli Thomas
Skipp Winks
Fatawu BEK Mavididi
Ayew/Daka/New Striker

That's assuming Hermansen, Ricardo, Faes, VK Soumare & Ndidi go. Probably missed a few others.

It's been reported we dont need a 'fire sale' and could keep more of our better players. If the following does stay, we could potentially line up like this

Hermansen

Ricardo Nelson Okoli Thomas
Skipp Winks
Fatawu BEK Mavididi
Ayew/Daka/New Striker

That's before adding in Monga, Alves, Evans. An injured Souttar to come back. Coady, Vestegaard(potential to leave)

Potential squad depth

Hermansen, Stolarczyk

Ricardo, Coulibaily, Justin

Nelson, Okoli, Souttar, Coady & Vestegaard

Thomas, JJ

Skipp, Winks

Fatawu, McAteer, Alves, Monga

BEK, Monga, Alves, Ayew

Mavididi, McAteer, Alves

Daka, Ayew

Few additions needed but that's just off the top of my head.

The above would be good enough for the Championship but we would struggle massively in the Premier League again if we went up.

Rob Tanner has published an article this morning in which he claims we may not know the outcome of the PSR charge for 23/24 until November—and that's before any appeal process. He also speculated that the club may be waiting until the new financial year (ie, 1 July) before appointing a new manager for PSR reasons—a possibility that has been openly discussed on here but not so much in the media until now.

Lets just hope and pray that they'll have done all the legwork already then, including discussing targets for the new bloke rather than actually getting a shift on when July 1st hits.
