On balance yes, I think Ange will be sacked before our next game.  The atmosphere on 18th October will be toxic if he doesn’t.  It’s not tenable.

But Marinakis has a big problem, as the ludicrous decisions to oust Nuno and - even worse - appoint Ange have really put his judgement into doubt.  I accept you’ll say he’s done lots of strange things before, but he’s generally got the big calls right, with most managers being a steady improvement on the previous one.

The Ange appointment was seemingly made with no due process or serious assessment of his capabilities.  It’s a catastrophic misjudgment, and 99pc of us said this from the start.

I think saving our PL status is where we already are.

EM has a lot of credit in the bank, it has taken 25 years to get back into the PL and he has invested loads and got you to where you are today. Stupid decision getting rid of Nuno nonetheless.

it has literally been three weeks, what can Ange do in three weeks?

You had an anomaly of a season last year, did you think/do you think you should be pushing for top 6 every season now? maybe it is a bit of a reality check recently with what's happened, i think you have to give Ange at least 3 months. What good manager is going to want to come to Forest and join the circus - players thrive under consistency. Look at Ariola, Silva, TF (when he was at Brentford), Emery etc. They have all been at their clubs for quite a while.

Seems like a quick way to make millions for a short term gig. Sign up, do a half arse job and get paid. Perhaps a mob threat here or there lol.

Agree, EM has loads of credit in the bank, deservedly so.  Whilst he has sometimes done controversial things, he usually got the big calls right - until he sacked Nuno IMO.

Most fans would be very happy with mid table and 50ish points - we know last year was exceptional.  Nuno would have comfortably got that 50 in my view, and even if he’s drifted a few points below that the fans would have stuck with him.  But we’ve swapped him for someone who’s now lost 30 of 49 PL games, and that’s the issue for most people - not just the 7 games with Forest. Most fans have just seen it as a massive downgrade since his name was first mentioned.

Agree on the stability point, and most fans see this as a load of disruption for no gain.

we’ll see what happens.  Going against my previous post, it’s feeling like EM will stick with him for now.

Genuine question here as I am interested in the perspective from a balanced and decent Forest supporter in yourself who can come

on here and have a good debate.

When you say about EM getting things right, on the surface, I can see why you guy back him as he has been in charge as you made it back to (and stayed in) the PL for the first time since the 90’s.

But how do you honestly feel about things like;

1. Signing 30 odd players in window (the throw shit until it sticks method).

2. The dodgy 3 ways dealings with Lyon and Botofogo, as a way of inflating your PSR position (very aware you are not the only team involved in this).

3. Hiring Clattenberg as a ref consultant.

4. The campaign to get Palace kicked out the EL.

Forest owner and fans still denying they had anything to do with point 4.. which everyone not associated to the club knows is a load of BS🤣

My honest views:

- 30 players in the 2022 transfer windows - totally necessary as we were promoted with a tiny squad with little PL quality.  I do think we’ve overspent and cluttered up the squad this summer however.

- PSR, Lyon etc - don’t like it but I don’t think Forest are exceptional here.  You had your loophole win with Nick de Marco, Chelsea had their hotels, Man City appear to sail close to the wind etc etc.  Forest, Leicester and similar clubs probably have to do what’s necessary to compete.

- Clattenberg - made us look stupid and paranoid.  As did the Luton tweet.  I’m with Cloughie - we should let refs do their job

- email to CAS - not convinced CAS are frightened of an East Midlands football team so I can’t see how a letter made any difference.  Suspect another club would have done similar but who knows.

- Other:

- hated the Marinakis/Nuno confrontation after our match v you.
- Banning Gary Neville - very funny!

Fair reply.

From the outside, it was clear you needed a lot of work that first year, having come up unexpectedly and with a lot of loan players. 30 odd seemed excessive as you had players such as I think, Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo who were signed and replaced within the same window. It looked like scattergun lack of planning.

PSR, as I say, other clubs in the PL are doing it. It makes me laugh that Forest fans accuse us of cheating however. We were incompetent but I don’t believe there were intentions to cheat the system. The PSR stuff encourages loopholes though.

Clattenberg thing, agreed.

The Palace thing, I do think is hypocritical given it is revolving around Texor, the very guy who is pivotal to your own circumventing of PSR. I personally think that is more impactful than his involvement with Palace and prefer to see teams play in the competition they have earned.

Yeah the Marikanas and Nuno thing was bad, particularly in light of the who Palace ownership stuff.

Neville thing was petty but I guess amusing. I forget what he said now.

Back to pragmatic defensive type football then ?

This could be delicious.

Imagine them sacking the manager that had them flirting with Champions League football because he doesn't get on with your sporting director, having to pay him compensation, hiring a guy who's methods are the complete opposite of the previous manager's, giving the new guy no transfer window and only a few games to instill a new way of playing, potentially sacking him and having to pay him off as well, then potentially hiring Sean Dyche, a man who looked like he was putting Everton into a relegation battle with three almost historically bad teams in the Premier League era last season.

As funny as them getting Dyche would be he's unfortunately keep them up. Does show how rapid their decline has been though which you love to see

Just had a look on their forum to gage their reaction to the rumours and I think they're doing what the kids nowadays call "coping"

Copium!

It's so weird to have gone for Ange and then so quickly go for Dyche, even though Dyche was readily available...

I won't be surprised if they hire Dyche, gets to midtable and then they sack him in the summer and their searching for another manager. Dyche would be brought in more to get them out of this current mess rather than a long term.

brilliant it doesnt get any better! get rid of their best manager for years cos he had falling out with the meglomaniac owner, then get big ange in and in 7 games has turned them into the laughing stock of the PL?, now there is rumours of dychey!! talk about panicking.... jesus if forest think its a good idea to employ dychey then they really are in a whole world of sh!te, no way will he win them anything and will probably just keep them up (maybe, its not a certainty)

I think this is just gossip - why would you get rid of a manager whos been there 6 weeks ?  do they really think that "dychey" will bring them european glory ?

its an absolute joke and i am sure forest fans WILL NOT want dychey, but they always throat off their perfect passionate owner rather than actually contemplating their glorious slim owner is not the problem here ? jesus what a joke! its funny! :D replenish those stocks of popcorn!!!!

International break so time to sort your Fantasy Premier League team out!

Pete is joined by Jono & Matt (186th out of 11million) as we look towards the next Gameweek on FPL.
Why hasn't Pete got Semenyo?

I used my WC1 last gameweek and have also planned which gameweek to use my Free Hit too.

I came so close to putting Woltemade in for Ekitike last gameweek but I thought Hugo would start the last game. With Isak fit and starting games now it's definitely time to ditch the Liverpool forwards with the prospect of a timeshare situation.

So former Premier League ref Mr Coote pleads guilty to making indecent images, gets from bad to worse for him. Just imagine this guy refereed many of our premier league games and now we know all long what he likes, utter scum bag.

I mean, it's no different to our fanbase who live and die by King Power and the "dream".

Of course they don't think Dyche will bring them "European Glory" look at some of the replies to that thread.

It's all a joke anyway. A bit of panic after 7 games. Ange is correct saying that people don't like a challenge nowadays, it's all "he's lost a few so we need a new manager now".
