Kyle Jardine i believe stating at an awards evening at Heather St Johns like two or three weeks ago. He was happy at Heather, didnt care for the money just enjoyed playing football with his pals at the club. So Boro solved that problem signed Jardine and his pals 😆

I heard that Boro have paid him an absolute fortune

Jardine was almost certainly on a good wedge at Heather lol that was an open secret in the league in the two seasons he was there.

He’ll be on eye-watering money for step 5 assuming Nuneaton have out-paid them. This will be a decent step 5 league as well so Jardine will be fine but Nuneaton won’t have the luxury of finding out the likes of Whitehead isn’t good enough if they want to crack on, Atherstone and AP will make them pay for it.

Still gutted that Stevo didn't give Jardine more opportunities at Coalville. I'd probably argue he's probably one of the most natural finishers I've ever seen play for Coalville.

He would’ve got opportunities but needed to be patient. That said, I don’t think he’s Step 3 level.

On facebook all yearly stories about when Hannah Dingley was named as Forest Green Rovers. First female manager to take charge of English professional mans team... only was in charge two weeks during the pre season. Then she was replaced, certainly showcased how forest green rovers just didn't have the bottle. Two weeks in pre-season is a joke. Hopefully not last female coach in the mens game that will given opportunity. Though think its only matter time we will see another club take the chance.

From my knowledge of National League North level players, Halesowen and Spalding both appear to be going for it alongside Harborough.

He turned up to play at the UFS tournament.

Savage leaves Macclesfield, looks like he'll be taking over at forest green, and taking players with him.

Bit of a change for Savage, not sure which one of the below he fits into.

Macclesfield - Proper old school club with old fashioned values & mental fans

Forest Green - The new breed of lower/non league football with Green values & well behaved, nice, fans

Even though Forest Green are in the national league, I still feel that Macclesfield are a much bigger club and capable getting back into EFL within the next two to three seasons. I just think if your going to leave Macclesfield least go for a bigger club in the EFL than a weird village team in gloucestershire that only one division above you.

Doesn't he part own Macclesfield?

Bit weird

I think others have mentioned he was a director but has been struck off Companies House, so likely yes.

The thing is, unless your heart is really in it and the club, I’d imagine with current investment they aren’t far off their peak at the moment. There’s of a slew of ex-league mainstays (albeit mostly supporter-owned enterprises now) who seemed to have found their level in NLN: Hereford, Chester and Darlington most notably. Even a better-placed and privately owned Scunthorpe took two bites of the cherry to get out of that league and even then it was via play-offs.

Savage clearly doesn’t actually have much emotional stake in the club (other than he lives round there), that much was clear in the BBC documentary, and knowing his character he probably sees an easier route to full time professional management in league football via Forest Green who  demonstrably have the resources to challenge at that level.

Must mean his media career is on hold. Can't see Forest Green accepting him flying to commentate on Europa League games on Thursdays.

Just find it a bit strange a bloke local to Macclesfield, put considerable time and effort into getting the club back into a decent shape, has decided to forgo a division jump (think Macc could get promoted next year) to a club which is at times a total basket case with zero sustainability.

He's got to have had a strained relationship with the owner or similar.

Went to my first game of the season today.

Friendly, Lutterworth Athletic beat Nuneaton town 2-1 in a well fought, very competitive game for a friendly, all for £5,  £3 concessions.

Great afternoon out in the (not too hot) sunshine.

Aylestone v harborough friendly tomorrow.

Need more Leicestershire teams going up the leagues!

I think Harborough will give it a real go this season. Brought in 3 or 4 very good players, kept the core of last season’s squad too.

I think he probably realizes his rep as a manager is as high as it will get, highly likely they will plateau in the National League North for a few years.
