What is the reason for flags? I mean originally.

They were to show two things.

1 - the presence of royalty or a representative of the government. They were identifiers of authority, that in this place you will have access to civil services, such as maybe available... Castles, courts, town halls, jails, harbour masters, etc.

2 - the alignment of armed forces on the battlefield and on ships.

I'd bet good money that the phenomenon of flags being flown outside these circumstances never existed before the 20th century.

He did say "original" rather than modern use tbf.

I remember from my time in SK they liked a flag on particular holidays, too.

Tragic incident at the car park of Hitchin Town FC. Two men killed unloading glass panels in what appears to be a terrible accident

Again, I'd guess not until the 20th century. The only time working class people would have flags out is if a government official or royalty were visiting. They wouldn't have a large flag at any other time.

Maybe should do this with the royal standard to lampposts around Buckingham Palace when the king is in residence?

How many people are in this alleged Epstein 'birthday book' release?

And why have the BBC chosen to focus, only, on Lord Mandelson's connection with him?

What about Trump, Clinton and several other letters included?!

Before the 20th century I would think most working class people were too desperate trying to find enough money to survive

Possibly because he's the only influential British figure listed (not sure about that)?

That being said, it should be reasonably big news in all of the Anglophone world that the supposed "leader" of that sphere is looking more and more like a nonce.

He’s got his finger in so many pies, he’s basically our Berlusconi. A truly disgusting, corrupt piece of crap.

Rules and financial propriety are for lesser mortals, not the Bullingdon Club.

Those who want Farage as PM (though he wasn't a member of that club himself, similar circles clearly apply) should be aware.

No Americans afaik

just Hams leaders (and obviously support staff)

the Americans knew of the attack at a high level

trump told them a few days ago to take the new deal he’d proposed or things would get ‘really bad for them’.  Their initial responses was same as to previous deals. Word was that Qatar had put pressure on them to rethink - surely Qatar didn’t sell them out ???

I don’t know why but it’s a lot easier to envisage hitting deprived countries, not one with the economy of Qatar. The fallout will depend on whether Qatar knew or not
