More crucial than this time yesterday?

Felt sorry for Rachel Reeves today, seeing her cry was sad.  People should not be put in roles they are not capable of doing.

Think it relates to events outside parliament - she looks very drawn

I like to see the evidence, some guy stopping her from speaking, yeah right?  Personal problems, walk out and solve them?

Her party, her associates, the MP's and society to some level, giving her a no confidence.................tears are the ck sequence.

Politician is human shocker!

Geez some of you guys need to give your head a wobble.

None of us know what's going on, until we do, maybe just accept that none of us are perfect and there's nothing wrong with showing some emotion. Personally I'd rather that than be ruled by robots.

I said the same when Theresa May resigned and was clearly upset. We knew why then, we don't now.

Correct but the amount of dogs abuse (worse than this) when Truss was in power is such double standards (not defending the indefensible here either, just comparing two high profile politicians).

Secondly, her boss did absolutely zero to back her up in front of the world, zilch. He knows  he needs to cut her adrift to save face himself - under the bus you go.

Whatever the situation, personal or otherwise - if she isn’t up to the job mentally she should resign as 70m people’s economic stability rest on her and her party making correct decisions. That goes for men, woman or otherwise in that position.

Now, let's be sensible, if these were supermarket jobs or working in a call centre, fair dooos.

This is the 2nd most powerful women in our country, dude.

If your gonna cry tells us why.

For all we know she could have had a loss of a family member, or news someone was terminally ill. These people are voted in and many feel a real responsibility to turn up and represent voters, no matter what. Could have put on a brave face but it all became too much.

I've literally just made that up but it's just as likely given we know **** all. And why is it any of our business if it is something personal such as the above?

Personally I'm much more worried about getting this country back on track after the Tories ****ed than I am because a women cried.

Robo, I think you have ignored what we have said.  So I will leave there.

They put out a statement it's personal. Fair enough but maybe don't come in?

How would that have been twisted by the media after the events of Tuesday ?

and imagine if they had put out a statement saying that the chancellor was absent for personal reasons ?    She probably told them that she’d cope but she wasn’t able to.

If she has serious issues then an announcement early on Wednesday that the chancellor was unwell and would be off for a few days would have possibly done the job - but we don’t know that her problems didn’t accelerate late morning Wednesday ??

All conjecture but you don’t get to the level she has in politics and look like that without it being something outside of her role being responsible.

Sir Keir Starmer has backed Rachel Reeves to remain chancellor for "many years to come" after she became tearful during an extraordinary PMQs.

The prime minister said it was “absolutely wrong” to suggest her visibly tearful appearance in the Commons related to the welfare U-turn, which put an almost £5 billion black hole in her plans.

“It’s got nothing to do with politics, nothing to do with what’s happened this week. It was a personal matter for her. I’m not going to intrude on her privacy by talking to you about that,” he told the BBC.

Earlier on Wednesday, the prime minister failed to guarantee Ms Reeves’ future as chancellor when pressed by Kemi Badenoch amid growing speculation over a reshuffle to regain his authority.

Ms Reeves wiped away tears as Ms Badenoch told the Commons she looked “absolutely miserable”. Labour minister Ellie Reeves then appeared to be holding her sister’s hand as she left the chamber on Wednesday.

Ministerial sources claimed the tears were a result of an argument with Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle prior to PMQs, for which they said he has since apologised. The Speaker’s office has declined to comment.

Is this obscene Big Bollocks Bill actually going to get passed?

Feel for the US folks at the moment, the rapid ascent in moral turpitude seems almost mind blowing.
