How do you draw that conclusion given they received the largest share of the vote in the 1933 election and so under FPTP would likely have had a majority in their parliament,  thus increasing their power ast that time rather than deminishing it.

I don't draw that conclusion. It's a common supposition. Proportional representation allowed the Nazi party to gradually gain traction until they reached the position they were in by 1933.

If course that wasn't the sole reason and no one can say for sure, but it certainly had a part to play.

They didn't rise to power legally, using violence, coercion and fraud so I reckon they would have found a way which ever system was in place. I'm sure there are example of despots gaining power in  FPT post type democracies.

Yes quite big news down here.  Seems like the right outcome, and a boon for the tru crime podcasters.  There was a guy on the radio earlier talking about how great the trial had been for the topwn, with huge takings for hotels, bars and restaurants.  A nice take on the murder of three people, and attempted murder of a fourth, I thought.  STRAYA!

Wasn’t one of his things when he ran for president again was to release the files on this? And as soon as Elon said he was on the list it there is suddenly no list and no info at all . A lot of people seem to be going against him on this other than a few crazy cult members. Bondi is getting all the backlash but there is no way she does anything with out trumps approval either. Let’s see what other crazy thing trump decides to do to try make people forget about this

This is an incredible story of how a drug dealer from Hinckley last year was working on behalf of Russia

What happens to a person that they turn out like this? Not only corrupt, but so thick they think that fighting for Russia in the Ukraine would be just the break they need?

I'm betting the Russian words he knows are,

Spasibo, privet, do svidaniya, glasnost, perestroika, gulag, vodka, stroganoff, Kremlin, tsar (csar, tzar, czar - that's 4 in 1!), borscht, spartak, lokomotiv, dynamo, sputnik, vostok, da and niet.

For those who choose Canada, thank you!

I encourage you to visit every province/territory and to support and remember us canuckers especially as we all go through the current american shit show.

We might not have the glam of places like Vegas/LA but have kind, honest, welcoming people with beautiful natural scenery/landscapes. Vancouver, Montreal,  Toronto (and their surroundings) are great cities to visit if that's your vibe. So much to see in all areas of Canada that even i have not yet ventured to! East coast is up for me!

I know people here that are switching their US trips to either stay within this beautiful country or visit Europe etc. I encourage reciprocal travel from fellow Canuckers.

No matter where you visit,  have fun and stay safe!

If you can confirm, are there maple syrup baths? Cos if so, I'm sold!

Love Canada! Have visited Ottawa, Toronto, St John’s Newfoundland, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, Whistler, Victoria Vancouver Island and spots in between.  Saw REM and Radiohead on consecutive nights at UBC which was lots of fun.

I have yet to make it to Australia but it's on the bucket list. Just need to deal with my "scared of everything wants to eat you in australia" thing lol.  One day, when the kids are old enough to be left alone lol.

Dammit man, you've got polar bears, grizzlies, mountain lions and wolverines, not to mention moose throwing themselves in front of cars.

Get out there!
