honestly regardless you'd struggle, the league has basically sacrificed an entire generation of fans chasing TV money. The amount of lunch time Sunday kickoffs mean that the young girls who enjoy football have to pick between watching games or playing (since there's not enough time to get away from playing in the morning in youth leagues to then get to the grounds). So much potential and it's fallen into the exact same traps as the mens game in terms of treating TV money as the be all and end all

Agree with this. The FA should be deliberately connecting the WSL / WSL2 with the various grass roots junior football leagues in catchment of the clubs and actively promoting / lining it all up. Encouraging whole teams with parents to go to a game after they’ve played in the morning, cheap tickets, get some food at the stadium, watch the match together, that’s how to get the kids interested in returning and taking more of an active interest. The grass roots girls leagues are in decent shape around us, Leics and Notts in particular especially in the u11 - u15 age groups, lots of girls playing Sunday mornings who’d be a captive audience if the FA actually employed common sense

In fairness, Leicester do actually do that, but it is very limited numbers.

I was asking our club secretary about the impact of the noon kickoffs on participation by our juniors and he said there was none at all.  What has been impacted is the tickets Leicester distribute via the club used to be in big demand but now no-one wants them.

It might have been a different story if Leicester were any good of course, but as it is it’s Leicester that are losing out as a result of the noon kickoffs, not our club.

The mistake was the connections to the men's teams. The women's teams should be independent of the men's (PL) and grown organically it may have taken longer to be successful at international and European level but it would have been genuine and properly grassroots.

No doubt Rick Pisspoor is talking with the backroom analysts on how to ensure relegation, let's face it they can't afford to run the women's team.

With around half an hour to go Birmingham are two up and Palace are three up, so unless something dramatic happens it will be Charlton in the playoff.    Probably the most winnable of the alternatives for Leicester.  If there is such a thing as winnable for Leicester.

I hope that the club treat this similarly to the way they treated the FA cup semi final and try to encourage attendance, offer free bus travel, or something along those lines.

Would also be interesting to see how many away tickets Charlton will make available too.

Are they likely to fill a stadium?

Really? charlton have been top pretty much throughout the season.  But they are on a poor run of form.

A fixture confirmation graphic. A ticker tape at the very top repeats "MAY 23 12:30 PM KICK OFF" in gold and white. The background's upper half features sleek, abstract 3D metallic blades reflecting vibrant purple and red light, fading into a solid black lower half. Large, bold white text reading "CONFIRMED FIXTURE" sits above the Charlton Athletic and Leicester City club crests. Below the crests is the cyan Barclays logo stacked above a colourful WSL logo and a gradient WSL2 logo. Further down, white italicised text reads "The Play-Off" with smaller text "PRESENTED BY" next to the white Mercedes-Benz logo. At the very bottom, a ticker tape repeats the gold text "TO BE PLAYED AT THE VALLEY STADIUM | ".

i know we cant really afford a WSL team now, but i hope we win this, get rid of passmoor and try and kick on next season

Charlton in the playoff confirmed

Sorry but I cannot see the point in winning this match, just to spend another season trying not to lose by too many each week. It's embarrassing.

Charlton in poor form but we all know what can mean in a one off game. They ran an in form Liverpool close in the Cup, can’t see where a win comes from under Passmoor.
