I find it odd that people can't fathom they his release clause was set too high hence no bids so far.

Now it's expiring we might see some low ball bids come in.

"set too high" basically smart from us if so

True, but I still expect him to go for less than the reported clause as he would have been identified as a profit :(

yea but then we will be identified as mid table championship rotters for the next 5-6 years if we well our players because.. profit

depends on how desperate they are to leave, I’d imagine..

Isak still hasn't put one in - but the disruption they can cause without putting in an official request can sometimes be worse as we're seeing with Newcastle!

Isak can walk into most teams so he can afford to play the waiting game..

This is the sort of thing that happens when you get relegated unfortunately.  Had we refused to put a reasonable clause in his contract he would not have signed.

Also release clauses as we discovered with contracts that didnt haveone, are not the end of the world.  Rather sell for a clause amount than get nothing.
Its a shitty situation, but if the clause is met, and he wants out, then he is sold.

Had we still had our good scouting and analysis system in place, this sort of thing wouldnt be such a big deal.

Then why did he play on Wednesday?

The player may have decided it was a club that he didn't want to go to. Can't force him to go. His decision. Point is that no one has a clue. Nowt to do with us.

Clause has expired as far as I’m aware. I think we would know about it if it had been triggered.

As I’ve said, why would anyone trigger his clause when it has days until it expires? As a potential buyer you’ll chance your arm at a low ball offer wouldn’t you? We know that we won’t accept any less than his clause, but to other clubs at the moment we appear desperate, so they may be thinking that we’re scratching around the back of sofa’s for cash, and put in a low offer to get him cheaper than we value him.

No one was paying £25-30m for him, he’s not got the stats to justify that tag.

If he’s desperate to play in the Premier League and we feel his performances with us might be affected by this I’m wondering if a straight loan is the best option.

We could command a loan fee and get his wages covered that would cover the cost of a replacement(s). I look at it as a win/win - if he does well and we got promoted he either comes back to us with another years PL experience or we command a higher fee then we would get now. If he doesn’t perform, he comes back to us and we review it.

Don’t get me wrong - I would rather keep him as along with Fatawu will be one of the best players in the league. I just don’t want anyone with us who doesn’t want to be here. I also don’t want us to take a cut-price deal if he tries to force a move.

As long as we got sufficient remuneration and he played a certain % of games it wouldn’t be the worst idea imo.

I don’t think he is, if he doesn’t go I don’t think he will kick off about it. There’s been zero suggestions he has, I’ve even heard he’s told Moroccan media he wants to help us get back up.

If that’s true we should do all we can to keep him. I just players who want to play for Leicester City

I’d like to see this.

                             Stolarczyk

            Faes        Vestergaard    Okoli

                                Winks

Fatawu       Bilal                 Page     Mavididi

                                Ayew

In what I imagine will be now in the absence of Justin.

But what I imagine we may see is this.

                            Stolarczyk

Hamza        Faes         Vestergaard  Thomas

                      Skipp         Winks

Fatawu                    Bilal                   Mavididi

                                Ayew

As we struggle with 11 players on the pitch, I'm not certain 10 will be an improvement. But who knows?

There was nothing stopping a club chancing their arm with a lowball offer before the release clause expired. Our response to that offer would have given them useful information on how stubborn we’re likely to be with our valuation of BEK, which in turn would have told them whether it was worth triggering the release clause. I agree with you that no club is likely to pay £30m for him, but I also think we won’t sell him for less. Which will mean he stays.

Absolutely agree however we are at risk that a club low balls an over and BEK starts agitating for a move and becomes unsettled and we are left with an unhappy player or forced to accept a lower offer than we had wanted to prevent being lumbered with another want away unhappy player at the club.

There’s no indication of him agitating for a move and I don’t think he will. If a top club came in for him, he might. But Leeds or Palace? Nah.
