£35 cheapest adult ticket for a game in the Championship.

Misleading suggestion that any adult can get the £30 or £26 tickets.

No commitment to having any Cat D games.

Pretending Cat C is new.

£49 for a game in the Championship in multiple places in the ground.

I'd say its more managing not to take another step in the wrong direction than taking a step in the right direction.

But will they sell them?

Last time Whelan experienced near rapture at the blocks of empty sections, knowing that general sale was banned (or at least so limited as to be so,)

She didn't want us at Wembley. Or in Europe. Nor in the Championship last time. Odd 'business' woman.

and new Categories C & D is introduced for a minimum of five games (at lower cost than any home league game during our last season in The Championship).

I interpret that as C&D will be implemented for 5 games.

Probably Oxford as Cat D and four others as Cat C.

Surely Charlton cat D as the only league 1 promoted side without a “story”?

have they really listened to fan feedback or the Foxes Trust? Or are they just charging as much as they can get away with (eg 2023/24 prices) and that happens to align with the Trust's very low expectations?

Already expensive ticket prices not increasing is a strange thing to claim a victory on.

as @ealingfox says it's not really a step in the "right" direction

With so many clubs putting their match ticket prices up year after year, the club reverting to prices from two seasons ago, plus also adding in two lower tiers, is at the very least a step in the right direction.

We’ll never know if it was the Trust that forced this, but the Trust in the past haven’t been as explicit with their thoughts and demands as they have been recently. We know the club heard the Trust and we know the club have subsequently acted in a positive way.

With no pressure from anyone I’m not sure they would have done that.

I’ve said elsewhere the difficulty in advocating for further reductions was that the club were regularly selling out two seasons ago on those prices, so that protects their position.

Throw in that the prices are pretty comparable with elsewhere sadly and others are increasing. You are left with the crumbs of trying to advocate no rises more than anything else

It was at the very least acknowledged by Susan Whelan. If it shaped their decision making, who knows but that’s the difficulty with fan groups in the modern era. Clubs are corporate companies and it’s all about making your opinion as loud as possible as a fan group.

Someone should tell them there is no such thing as a Cat A game in the Championship.

I won't be getting matchday tickets next to my dad in my old seat at £36-£39 for most games. Not many available anywhere at what i would consider fair value for this league.

Them should be the entire league - for example Coventry charge £37 for a comparable ticket.

Always amazes me how £30 is apparently the fair price to charge away fans in the PL yet we are applauding the club for charging home fans more than that in the Championship.

Yay us.

5 games at Cat C would satisfy the commitment as they've worded it.

People have to be realistic about what the Trust can achieve (and what other fan groups are achieving across the country).

If there’s a fan group out there that got a Premier League club from last season to reduce ticket prices behind where they were two seasons ago then the Trust will get in touch with them to find out how!

But, although ticket prices in this country are pretty extortionate, and although the club is getting lots wrong at the moment, the introduction of a couple of cheaper categories is - as the Trust says - a step in the right direction. Let me repeat that: a step in the right direction (not a leap, not a huge stride, a step).

There’s also a point here on what you want from the club-Trust relationship. Previously there was not much being won, and now, even when the wins are small, people criticise the wins not being good enough!

If the Trust continues to hammer the club when there are small wins, how do people expect us as a fan base to get to the big wins?!

Like I said in the other thread people just want to bitch at the Trust whilst sitting on their arses doing nothing. This is a good step, the club wouldn't have introduced these categories without any pressure on them from people giving up their evenings to attend the FCC/FAB meetings, people that do nothing to help the fanbase shouldn't forget that.

Also, people want instant success and instant change. Never works like that in this day and age so any small win 'appears' insignificant even though it could be the start or a domino effect of influencing other change, demonstrating to the club that communication like this can work. And rapport can be built if that communication goes both ways, and that they do listen to what the Trust (ie fans) are putting across.

Good to see that the club have priced Oxford at home tomorrow as a Category D fixture, which is what it should be of course. P2 and P3 have both sold out as a result and that's in spite of the overriding feeling of discontent at the moment. Credit should go again to the Trust and any others who were involved in urging the club to introduce lower ticket prices this season.

The Catagory C & D prices primarily came about as a result of feedback in the Fan Engagement Framework sessions, with the Trust represented in all the sessions.

Our FAB fan representative in particular lobbied for at least one catagory D fixture to be a 3pm Saturday kick off to maximise attendance of the next generation of fans with £5 for young fans in all areas of the ground (bar corporate)

This was originally going to be the Portsmouth fixture until the kick off was moved to an evening kick off, so the FAB agreed it should be moved to this weekends game

Thanks for the feedback. It's also good that the club aren't charging away fans £35 as a standard price this season.

We all know this has only happened due to poor ticket sales. Standard prices for Championship games are crazy.

The decision to introduce Cat C & D games was made before the start of the season.

it would be true that the most likely least popular games and lower level of travelling fans were selected, but that's always been the case when different price categories are used
